I am not dead, if any of you suspected that it was so. I have just had a lack fo things to post about, because I'm sure that you all get fed up with reading: 'So, this weekend, what did I do? Went to the pub, went clubbing, and then was very dead at work. Oh, and then went back to the pub.'

So ... what have I been up to? Well, on Wedneday, I went to ( Read more... )

clubbing, pubs, holidays, oh god yet more drinking

America? How did I miss this? what do you plan on getting up to there?

Was there any particular reason there was a banana and a group of smurfs at the pub? Or was it just that it was student night?

My, I do seem to be abusing the poor question mark in this post, don't I?

I'm going to America with college for a Politics trip (I've conviniently forgotten to mention to the college that I've dropped that subject). We're spending four days in New York, then three days in Washington, and are driving through Philadelphia as well. And we are going EVERYWHERE. Seriously, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Radio City Music Hall, Broadway, Central Park, Times Square, the White House ... the list goes on. I am so ridiculously excited.

Err... weird people hang out in clubs. Weird students, in particular. On Saturday, at TJ's, we made friends with a group of people dressed as Mexicans. Makes the night out exciting.

I don't remember hearing about an America trip either! Where are you going here?

New York for four days, and then we're driving through Philadelphia to see the war memorials, and then on to Washington for three days. *jigs* It's going to be so fun - the itiniary is jam packed with Everything You Could Possibly Ever Want To See. I don't think we're planning on sleeping for the whole time that we're there.

:o That's great! I've never been to Philadelphia. I've been to NYC, but only for a day. That was pretty awesome, though. I'm such a country girl, I was one of those people that looks up at the really tall buildings like O_O I think everyone knows you're a tourist when you do that. I got mixed reactions as a tourist when I was there. We (my mom, my sister, and I) were on a tour bus, and a group of probably early 20s people went by, and one of them waved, so I waved, then the whole group waved. My sister frantically tried to stop me, haha. But my mom, sitting across from us, got the finger from someone working on windows or something. Haha, whee!

DC on the other hand.. I've been there a few times, cause it's pretty close to me. Especially now! It's really close, some people that live here in my town commute to DC. It's pretty ugly there. :P Well, the government buildings are pretty. And the Lincoln Memorial and museums and such. But everything else is ugly.

Is this trip for your American politics class?

Yes, it's for the American Politics class ... which I've dropped, largely because the teacher and the students were getting to me. So quite what the justification is to be going anymore, I don't know ... but my parents don't seem to mind.

The idea is that the people studying Politics and Sociology wanted a trip to Washington, and those studying Media, Film, or Theatre Studies wanted to go to New York, so the college cunningly combined them to make everyone happy, and we all go everywhere. Which is great, because I'm actually looking forward to NY more than Washington.

I am going to say what everyone else has already said: America? When? Why? How? That's so exciting. Where in America?

Haha, you sound like you're having a good drunken time.

Yes, America! I can't believe that I haven't mentioned this! It's with college, and is a trip for students doing Politics, Media or Film Studies, Theatre Studies, or Sociology (even though I'm not doing any of them anymore, but nobody seems to have noticed). We're going on the 4th of March, for eight days - four in New York (for the Film/Media/Theatre students), one day driving through Philadelphia, and three days in Washington (for Politics/Sociology).

And we are going everywhere. Seriously, the itiniary does not seem to have drafted any time for unnecessary things like sleep. The Empire State Building, Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, Radio City Music Hall, Broadway, ice skating in Central Park, Times Square, the White House - it's going to be ace.

America does things to your brain. I hope you're not spending too much time over there. My Aunt live in Vegas. She's about 5' tall (if that) and she's got these huge double D implants. And she has a pet monkey. And she owns a cleaning bussiness because she's just a little bit OCD.

Anywho, don't give your liver too much abuse. Those are supposed to last your whole life.

Don't worry, I think eight days is not long enough to make me completely brainwashed (unless I spend my entire time watching Fox News - then you might have to worry).

When this one dies, I shall just buy another one on the black market. Problem solved.
