I had a lovely NYE in NYC with my BFF, and now it's time for
NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS! Let's see how I did in 2011.
1.
run for half an hour without stopping!!!
DONE, and I also ran for AN HOUR without stopping, and I also ran my first 5K and did it in 30:44!
Corresponding goal for this year: run my first 10K, work up to running 25 miles per week (currently I'm at around 10), beat my 5K time.
2. integrate pilates and free weights into my workout routine? MAYBE
Kind of??? I mean, I do flexibility and strength sometimes, but I wish I did more. That's another maybe-resolution for next year. My real resolution is: as much as is in your power, feel as physically great next year as you do this year.
3. graduate from college
DONE
4. complete 750 words a day for at least half of the days of the year.
hahahahahahahaha. I think I did twelve days. Corresponding resolution for this year: let's be real, I'm a reader and not a writer. Read at least one book a month.
5. VISIT THE MIDDLE EAST
hahaha :( :( oh early January 2011, you were an innocent time. Cairo, someday we'll be together. Corresponding resolution for this year: GET OUT OF CHICAGO. Do something interesting with your life. You are 23, healthy, stable, unattached, childless, and financially secure. DO SOMETHING WITH THAT.
Honestly, the thing I feel best about doing in the past year is something that wasn't on the list except by implication, namely: Lifestyle Changes, in the areas of food and exercise. I badly BADLY want to hang onto these habits I've formed, to feel this strong and energetic, and I honestly think I will. 2012, come at me.
