You always hear about how toddlers are so accident prone and always hurting themselves, right? So how come I'm the one with a skinned elbow, bruised knee, pulled muscles, cut up shoulder, and broken glasses?

Two possibilities.

1) Toddlers are better padded and don't have as far to fall.

2) You haven't grown up yet! You're still practicing!

It's usually the Mama that ends up hurt, while the Bebe ends up laughing at the Mama.

That's a common occurrence around here, too, but with a giggling Bee. :D

When I was small my mother was carrying me down some steel-edged concrete steps in the New York City subway when she felt herself trip, and all the way down her one thought was "Protect the baby!" She ended up concussed and with a back injury that she dismissed at the time, but that was to lead to years of back trouble, and eventually to back surgery in her late 60's. I clapped my hands and laughed, and wanted her to do it again, it was such a fun ride. She wasn't yet 21.

Face it. Being the mom is a much tougher job than being the toddler.

I hope you feel better soon, and that there will be new glasses that you like even better than the old ones!
