Thanks! I love purple peppers and always try to grow them every summer. Sadly, mine haven't done too well this year. Back in 2006 I had the biggest pepper patch! That was the first time I tried growing them and remember people saying how hard they were to grow in our area. But I had a huge, highly productive patch! Since 2006, I've been doing crop rotation and they haven't thrived in other places in my garden, so next year I'll plant them in that place again and see what happens.
I've got a pepper plant in a container that is doing fabulously. Maybe it stays nice and warm in there?
Gorgeous! I hope you get another great crop in that spot next year.
I've had gypsy peppers produce a lot of fruit but never ripen, and I like sweet bell type peppers. Green gypsies just don't do it for me. The first one out of the hoophouse this year turned color at least, which was nice. My baby bells are turning too, so I should have a few home grown sweet peppers this year, and I successfully produced my first hot pepper that was actually HOT! I'm going to do better next year and place them in their own little spot in the hoophouse that will get less water than the rest of the plants, so that they get REALLY hot. :)
