Imma answering the_demon_yuber's questions, but you're welcome to comment for questions. :O

THE RULES:
1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like.
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions

1. What's a subject you've always liked but never got the chance to study as in depth as you would have liked?

Biology. Sciences though, basically. I had a couple (see, one course per year) of some science topic. Quebec secondary year 3 was Biology. 4 & 5 were Physics and Chemistry. (though Biology was supposed to be for year 3 and 4, I was in a program that was a bit more advanced so we did both Biology courses at the same time)

Needless to say... I didn't get enough of THOSE kinda courses. The only thing I dissected too (and it was with one partner or two, I can't remember, so we had to share those tasks) was an eye. Not to say I'd be very fond of dissecting frogs (I like them living happy or fried in my plate), but it's a fascinating topic, to learn about living things and how their insides work.

S'possibly why I'm pondering (though I'm not sure I'll be able to do it) to study something about water like marine biology or something like water chemistry.

2. You sure like a lot of different anime... Let's say you just started watching a new series. What's something that could pop up that would IMMEDIATELY turn you from that series?

The FIRST thing that would pop up and make me leave the series? The opening theme/sequence. XP For example, there was Berserk. I -hated- the music for it (I barely remember the actual sequence) and it makes me want to run away because, of course, each time I'd want to watch it (IF I had any interest in it, which I didn't since I found it to go faaaar too slowly and to be faaar too boring), I'd have to go through the opening and/or fast-forward it. First impressions are important after all and that sort of first impression...yeah. Complete turn off.

Another one that would allow me to watch a bit MORE of the series before I made a pronouncement would be....................... The voice actors. Japanese or English or otherwise.

The moment I think I really don't like the acting or the cast, I lose interest and/or refuse to watch it. Good example would be D.Gray-man. I love the manga (until I got too lazy to read the rest...was at chapter 65 or 95..), but I wasn't too sure about Suzumura Ken'ichi as Rabi and I -really- wasn't fond of Sakurai Takahiro as Kanda. Oh and... Konishi Katsuyuki as Komui. I mean... I love the seiyuus individually (Suzuken! Sakurai!! KONISHIIII!!!), but... yeah, either my mental impression of the characters didn't match with the feedback I was given or the acting wasn't...eh... (...I still want to hear Tiki though. I haven't listened to Morikawa yet and he might save my soul from utterly rejecting the anime.)

And if we're NOT speaking opening sequence or seiyuus/voice actors, then...it's the art. Like with Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge. I LOVE the manga. I find it HILARIOUS and the art doesn't ENTIRELY make me gag (sometimes, it does). The anime just... urk. Completely destroys it. I don't want to hear about the anime at all.

And THEN if we're NOT talking of opening sequence, seiyuu or art, we get into plot or episode sequencing... perhaps presentation overall. Like... there was a series about a year ago that had AWESOME art, enjoyable opening sequence, pleasant and enjoyable voice actors and I just couldn't stand watching more of it since it was just making me want to strangle the producer/director team. I forget what it is though I remember there was Okiayu Ryoutarou in it (I LOVE that seiyuu!) and...yeah, no. Even he couldn't save it. Because I hated how the episodes went. It's like... You get intro. Then an event with one character. Then sometime during the episode you get SINGING. Then a conclusion. Rince and repeat for every other episodes. Never finished the series, didn't bother burning the one ep I -could've- kept (the first one, with Okiayu's singing), sad because I did so like the art (though all the boys were generic pretty boys... prolly was a dating sim-turned-anime). There's also DNAngel in that category actually. >:/

Of course, that's all supposing I LOOK at one episode of the series. Because I mainly download raws. So I have this one site I check up when new anime season happens (it's a quarterly thing) and then I match up titles and look at the websites of each series to decide (on sight usually) if it's my type of anime or not. A lot of times, I look at the art first for those noodle characters, prepubescent girls or TOO-WELL-endowed girls. If I see those, I'm more likely than not to put it on my "never watch" list (such as Lucky Star). If the art passes, then I look at the general concept of it (more often than not, I won't look at anime that was based off a dating sim or a hentai game; Happiness! is just a fluke because I want to hear Lucas's seiyuu. >>;).

...Basically, I'm picky. Because there -will- be series I'll glance at even if some of the stuff mentioned above got violated (like... oh... Hayate no Gotoku [who gets to stay because episode two had a statue of EDOGAWA CONAN from Detective Conan! ♥] or Lovely Complex [I'm not very fond of the art]). Then there's series that I'll watch JUST because of ONE character or seiyuu (such as Devil May Cry [I'm not going to be playing the game so... yay for Morikawa as Dante in anime!] or Happiness! [Oh Lucas...why must your seiyuu voice straight characters in hentai games... TT *will find it all though*]).

...Y'know? I didn't even get into the characters that will make me refuse to touch the series. Ah well.

3. What was the first thing you wanted to be when you grew up?

As far as I remember, seamstress. That was because I always saw mom at home sewing away and making clothes. I grew to learn that it was her job, not necessarily something she did out of pleasure (though she does when she has the time), but it's really the first thing that I wanted to become and always stuck to the back of my brain...

S'prolly why I cosplay and insist on cosplaying even if my parents tell me I don't need to do this kind of activity. Because I still want to be a seamstress a bit, even if my creations aren't exactly perfect and constantly needs to be tweaked with mom's help.

4. What pairings do you hate with a fiery passion?

I think we already spoke of Sigurd/Hervey before. You didn't ask why, but basically... I hate how the fangirls portray Hervey in it. I can believe Sigurd to be between a range of mellow or strict under that smiling face, but the Hervey portrayal is where I draw the line. Though, equally important would be the way Sigurd and Hervey interact. If I don't appreciate the portrayal or the interaction--and so far every Sigurd/Hervey fanfics/arts/doujinshi I saw just made me growl in hatred and drip in pure venom--then I obviously won't like the pairing. I haven't seen anyone portray them in a way that I can (grudgingly) accept the pairing so for now, I'm hating on it like I hate on art thieves.

Other pairings would be... Percival/Borus (IT. DOES. NOT. EXIST, DEAR SUI3YAOI!FANGIRLS! YOU HEAR ME!?), Thomas x anyone-but-Cecile (I know someone who shares my hatred of that), Lelouch/Shirley (Code Geass yay) and... and I have a long list that extends to too many series so y'know, I'll just stop here. *pops hate!lid back on*

5. Where did Kaluin come from?

Actually... just me playing with sounds. I was trying to find a name for an original character (that plan never really panned out) and I started with "ka..." then "ru..." then I got karu out of it, but I wasn't too sure about just that since I wanted a third sound after it so I went "i...n?" ...something like it. I ended up with "Karuin" then, but thought it too Japanese or rough on the pronounciation so I replaced the R for an L. Then I later checked on google if it existed and I think I found a town in India called Kaluin and one or two individuals on message boards, but since no one else otherwise took the nick, well~... we know where this is going.
