car insurance inquiry

Okay you US people that have car Insurance..

to repair my windshield will be 300.. but my deductable is 500.. do I even bother reporting it?

i don't count because i'm not US :o but no, i wouldn't report it. you'll still have to pay for the whole thing, and then won't it make your payments bigger? i dunno. find out how it affects your insurance first.

that's what i thought too so yeah.. I guess it just gets fixed.. dan'spaying for part of it too.. muhahaha

Deductable is the same as your excess, right?

In which case, don't bother reporting it - as it will count as a claim, which will lose you any no-claims bonus you may have, thereby putting your premiums up - even though you haven't actually got any money out of the insurance company.

Repeating the masses here - nope.

$300 sounds pretty darn expensive. Have you tried aftermarket? I need to look into that for my car.
