weddings and wheelchairs

I am shocked and appalled.

I was searching for information on weddings and wheelchairs, because my friend who I've asked to be my bridesmaid is in a wheelchair and I wanted to see if there was anything online that would help with planning.

First thing google throws up is a blog from 2005, in which I quote;

I agree, appalling behaviour. We mass boycotted a family wedding because the mentally handicapped cousin wasnt invited at all.

Ah yes... I remember that...

I have only met any of that side of your family once and that was hardly under the best cirumstances.

PS, not sure what sort of do you're planning, but I seem to recall the botanical gardens look fairly accessible, some areas are grassy but there are paths around a lot of it.

I was going to mention this! :)

The loudoun suite is reasonably accessible and they are flexible enough in thier planning to allow for extra wide aisles for wheelchairs.

They dealt with all our wierd requirements with nary a complaint so I am sure they can deal with yours :)

Personally I'd ban children & drunks & the parents as well, just in case.
