Surprised and pleased and worried, because people keep getting injured and the bullpen is shaky and I don't know, some disaster could probably strike.
The saddest thing for me this year has not been the general stinkiness of the Red Sox -- though that is bad, it's not at 2012 levels -- but watching Koji Uehara start to lose his touch a bit.
You probably remember Jonathan Papelbon. Stare of Death(tm), blazing fastball, attitude galore, very histrionic and grim. Koji is equally passionate (or more), but with him it's all joy. With Papelbon, you enjoy watching the other guys lose. Watching Koji win is like happy puppies.
Ah well. He is but mortal like the rest of us, but for 2013 and most of this year he seemed like more.
While Koji Uehara in Baltimore was not of the same caliber as Koji Uehara in Boston, I really enjoyed watching him and was sad when we traded him. I'm glad he found a good home and hope he gets back to his form.
