In-Character Information
Name (and age/-relevance if applicable): Goose. He lies that his name is his piloting handle, but in reality, it's his real name. His mom must have hated him. XD He's 24.
Series: Pilotwings
Occupation or status upon arrival: Ace pilot who only recently graduated from his flight club training. He's there as fighter pilot defense for the city professionally, or hell, even just for casual transportation, so you can call 'im when you need 'im~
Personality:
Goose is, needless to say, a man with a quite varied personality. The most of him is a generally laidback kind of guy, one who doesn't let things get to him very easily. Even in the most insulting and degrading situations, he can find a way to keep his cool, looking on with a big grin on his face and his hands in his pockets. Someone thinks he's dumb? Big deal. The rudest dude ever? Yeah, okay. Someone wants to pick a fight with him? Bring it on, don't forget deadly weapons. He can handle it, or at least attempt to. It takes a lot to make his mood fall unless the air of seriousness in the area is so thick that you can cut it with a knife. (Giant robot attacks, anyone?) However, for the most part, he's pretty calm and collected, never really a pessimist.
However, when the more serious moments come in, he can sometimes even seem to be quite a bit different than usual. He still maintains his somewhat goofy ways, but his demeanor shifts to one that's a little bit more 'no monkey business'. Usually, this only ever happens in life and death situations, but trust me, it has happened. When it comes to a time like that where the risk of death (in himself and others, at least, for he likes to be a stunt devil doing danger stunts, but that will be detailed later in the app) is very high, he knows that distracting himself or goofing off can cost someone else their life or even himself. Despite being frequently laidback, when times are too dire, don't expect him to just be silly and act like nothing's happening.
As for being so cooled down most of the time, it takes a lot of willpower for a guy like himself to do that most of the time, for that fact that he could probably get on peoples' nerves a lot for a certain reason: sometimes, he can be kind of unintentionally rude. He's quite loudly-spoken and rough, used to being a bit tough in his palling around, and thus, he can say some pretty sharp things that he doesn't mean. Usually, his intentions are quite nice, actually. His insulting or poorly-worded ways are accidental more often than not, unless you really get on his nerves or charge head on to put him down, as well. Even then, though, like usual, he doesn't let it get to him. The most he'd do is laugh at any dude who'd be willing to even think of trying to put him down and just slyly reply with a bit of a venomous serpent-like tongue (probably all along with a great big smirk).
Speaking of which, his deviousness. He can come off as quite a sly bastard sometimes, slipping around to either get what he desires, show off a good comeback, to be lovey in his own certain way, and other such things. He usually shows that off with frequent slier thoughts and even a sneaky 'hehehehe' or two to boot. He can even show this type of manner towards others and even be a bit over the top just because he wants to be goofy and to joke around. He seems to view everything as something that should be more of a laidback world, so that's a thing he occasionally does that he would not want to stop any time soon.
Despite coming off as just a sneaky, crude, but cool and smooth guy at first glance, Goose still can have his friendlier moments. He honestly loves socializing and being pals with others, sort of being a giant social butterfly. He just seems to tease, mess with, and be an ass to those he cares for most sometimes! If he's crazy enough around you that he'd just laugh haughtily at everything you do and lightly punches you on the shoulder playfully? Chances are he thinks you're a great buddy.
However, with some certain people, he can get just a bit too friendly. By certain people, I mean women. By too friendly, I mean that he is one of the biggest flirts you'll ever meet. He likes a nice lady with just the right demeanor and the perfect body, for he can be just slightly perverted occasionally (not too much, I promise!), and boy, will he seek one out? He definitely gets very flirtatious when it comes to a pretty girlie, and thus, he does it with... well, most women out there ahaha. He doesn't have the highest standards. A woman is a woman, and boy, does he love them women. Apart from that, though, he acts pretty average around men and any child (he is no pedo, sorry fdfsdfffas). He just... he just likes women a lot okay.
Another thing about Goose is just how gutsy he can be. Not only is he a bit cocky about his piloting prowess (in his own words, he's a self-proclaimed expert that thinks that there 'ain't any vehicle he can't handle'), but he takes a bit too much advantage of it. He likes being a bit of a daredevil in his piloting. In fact, he's a bit of one in many things altogether, for he is an overall daring dude. Sometimes it's for the thrill of something with a bit of danger involved, and at other times, it's just to simply be a giant showoff. He likes to have a rush of adrenaline to really pump himself up, for once, and as for being a showoff... well, he just likes looking cool. Pretty self-explanatory, that one! However, he doesn't get into the EXTREMELY dangerous stuff. He feels that he knows the fine line between it being adrenaline-pumping enough and being completely ridiculous, as well as too risky.
In short, Goose is an overall laidback guy who loves to be social, but can be a bit too rough in doing so in the verbal (and even very rarely physical) sense. He can use his sly side of himself to try to slip out of things sneakily, as well, highly using that to his advantage (whether or not it would work). He's quite a bit of a ladies man and stunt devil, to be frank and in fewer words, which can be either a good or bad thing for him. Goose is just... Goose. He's definitely one unique kind of guy.
Backstory:
Once upon a time in the land of Little States, there lived a man and a woman. This man and this woman wanted kids, they did things, they got one. The end.
... No, seriously, though, this child they had was a young boy they decided to call 'Goose', for most of the people in their family had duck-like names (from Mallard to Swan and every other guy and gal with such names, the only one being exempt being our piloting dude's father, Maverick (lol Top Gun pun)). It felt like a tradition to continue that line of names and needless to say, it felt very important to Goose's mother, so 'Goose' it was. No matter how much he would hate that name in the future.
The boy grew up with quite the average life. He was a pretty energetic and lively (yet much more fragile than he would grow up to be in his adulthood) child, as well as quite the socialite. He was very talkative to all of the kids he knew and made very fast friends with most of them. Thankfully for him, he never grew up completely alone and he always had some friends by his side. That lasted all through kindergarten and grade school, but by the time he was in junior high, it took a step up. It was around then that... well, honestly, puberty smacked him right upside the head and hey, he was finding these girls in Junior High kind of hot right about now. What now?
The first girl he made a move towards surprisingly swayed from his flirtatious ways, finding him to be the most adorable boy she'd ever seen. She didn't decide to date him or anything, but she was certainly flattered. This kind of positive reaction sort of caused a bit of a change in this innocent young boy, making him begin to act this way towards most of the girls he knew. However, he quickly realized that most of them wouldn't approve of this sort of silly way to act, but he didn't waver from being this way. He decided that since one girl had been moved by his smooth-talking, there would definitely be more to come. They might just be scarce. Not that he minded or anything.
Thus, he was just this way throughout the rest of his schooling, from junior high to high school. Once he got out of high school, his father could look at him only as someone to be very proud of. His father was a retired military man, being one of the lieutenants of the Little States Army. He saw a strength radiating from his little boy, now a full grown adult, and because of this feeling of control, will, and power he seemed to get from him, he decided to suggest the army to him. Goose, however, didn't think of this as something for him to get into at all. Rather, it seemed quite out of his interest to get in with a bunch of ground-bound soldiers.
Through this, though, it did make him consider joining the force... just not the Little States Army. He had read some great things about Holiday Island's Flight Club and being in their air force, so he decided to bring that up to his father. Although his dad was personally not for aircrafts, he believed that if his son wanted to go for it, that was mighty fine. He didn't have any objections, but rather, he shipped him off to Holiday with a salute of approval and good luck in his direction. Goose was honestly very pleased, glad that his father saw it his way. Not like he would've relented from piloting if he didn't approve, but it still made it feel a little easier, eh?
He decided to go through with it, signing up at the flight club and seeing if they'd allow him. They would allow him, but only after some time to train and build himself to be a professional. By the time he could get to his training, he was around 23. He tried to work with the three main vehicles there, as well as the three extra courses they provided: the hang glider, the rocket belt, and the gyrocopter for main vehicles, and the human cannonball, skydiving chutes, and jumble hoppers (springing boots that would propel the user many feet into the air) for the extra courses. He also signed up for some optional Birdman wing classes (artificial wings that can allow humans to fly) so he can use those for battle, as well as recreational single-unit flight.
Once he signed up, he was informed that he had to meet the other pilots of his particular squadron and even wind up sharing a room with another. His fellow pilots in his squad went by the names of Kiwi, Ibis, Hawk, Robin, and last, but not least, Lark. The last of the five had to wind up being his roommate, and although Goose didn't take too fondly to the idea of rooming with some snot-nosed little kid at first, they grew to be pretty comfortable with each other. Goose went on with his training straight after. He wound up alright in the hang glider and rocket belt departments, failed in the cannonball courses, and did decently in jumble hoppers. However, when it came to the Birdman, gyrocopter, and skydiving courses, he passed through his missions with flying colors.
However, the peace and enjoyment was broken when the six pilots had to combat Meca Hawk, a giant robot on a rampage in Little States. It was unknown as to who created him or what caused him to be so ruthless, but at the time, it didn't matter as long as they could stop him. Lark had lead the squadron to defeat him, with Goose as one of the main gyrocopter soldiers under his wing. Goose honestly found this to be a pretty awesome battle at first, for this time, he was quite simple. A robot that could only throw rocks at people? How dumb was that? PFFT. They, especially Lark, had beaten the robot with great ease, and continued with the rest of their training.
That didn't last for long, however, for very soon after, Meca Hawk went on an attack yet again in Everfrost Island. Goose went out with a haughty laugh in store, thinking that this was gonna be a piece of cake again. He quickly felt his mood drop and his mind switch gears once he realized that this wouldn't be as easy as last time. The mech now threw very cold blocks of ice chunks from the surrounding island pieces and he threw them FAST. They hurdled at the pilots at great speeds, very much raising the risk of crashes and even deaths, so they needed make quick and careful work of this guy.
Thankfully for them, they managed to clobber the guy without so much as an injury inflicted on any of the six pilots of their team. This was definitely a thing to be celebrated, especially since this very last battle (apart from their extra courses), counting as a mission for them (despite Meca Hawk not being of the flight club's creation), would be their last mission entirely. Thus, the pilots passed through the flight club's training, including Goose, and they all wound up to be full-fledged gold-wing pilots.
By now, Goose had hit 24. With the start of the new year for him, he decided that he would stay enlisted and stationed at his flight club and the three islands (as well as Little States, the continent) of their seas, but travel to other lands, as well. He wanted to expand his line of work to more areas, at least just a few more, anywho. With a departure and some goodbyes, he left, setting his sights on a town called 'Diamond City'. Perhaps, from the look of it, they would need a professional pilot in case of rough times. He decided he would go for it and defend this place, as well as permanently station himself there. Furthermore, he found it to be a nice environment. It wasn't a bad place to live at all, from what he's seen so far! Because of this, he bought an apartment room in the city to stay.
What brings this person to Diamond City?:
Goose felt like coming to a new area to make his service a bit more widespread. He's a very dedicated pilot, you see, and he likes the idea of expanding his horizons. (Plus, he wonders what the bars and ladies here are like~ Numnum~)
Misc. Notes:
- Goose's height is 6'1" and his weight is around 156 lbs canonly. He's pretty tall and pretty lanky, but he so asserts that he has a really nice body. lol Goose. Silly Goose. And a nice- no
- His shades! Goose originally wore shades constantly as a wimpy child because his eyes (which are a deep blue, btw) frequently got made fun of. He's not like that now, but because of the sunglasses shielding his eyes for most of his childhood and even some of his teenagerhood out of habit, his eyes are somewhat more sensitive to bright sunlight. He kind of hates going without them.
- He'll be bringing his Birdman wings and gyrocopter in for the ride here... as well as plenty of firearms. |D;; Not that he'll shoot anyone in the RP (unless there's like, another invasion of egg pawns! Pfft!), it's more like a 'last resort if I'm about to be killed' kind of measure.
- Despite being a ladies man, he is a bit bi-curious. Some guys are pretty good looking, too, with muscles and biceps and abs and mm. That is a bit of a secret of his, though, and he doesn't know if he'll act on it.
- Goose. LOVES. DRINKING. Booze is far too addicting for his body to be without and he's an immense alcoholic. His favorite drink (non-mixed and on the rocks) is rum, but when it comes to cocktails, he looooves margaritas.
- He has a pretty heavy Southern accent and a medium-pitched voice. It could sound annoying to some but nice to others, I suppose, especially when he puts on his 'Southern charm'. >3>
- His birthday is... July 4th lmao. Probably explaining why he loves to wear star-spangled outfits so much (at least for his piloting outfit, but even outside of that, he loves the colors red, white and blue).
- His hair is the tallest hair ever, seriously. It could be a FOOT HIGH.
See for
yourself. (Those are also good refs to his piloting outfit sans helmet and some of his casual outfit, btw.)
Example Post:
Well damn, didn't think this city would be as nice as back home, but whaddya' know. Can't judge a book by its cover, looks like! I found a pretty nice apartment to stop by at and they're allowin' me to use the roof for my 'copter. Gooooood, she needs a nice home, heheheh.
Say, there were some nice women goin' down the streets nearby. Wonderin' now if they live close. ... Juuuust curious. *Oh boy, oh boy, he hopes so. They were kind of hot.*
Name's Goose, ace pilot. If ya need my professional work to whup someone into next week or some sky transportation, ya' know who to call now. See yaaa'll!
