Allow me to introduce Gryphon.Actually I've had gryphon since early April and just brought it in for the 1000 mile check today. The bike is a Harley 883 Sportster. I'm still in the process of dressing it out and will be for most of the summer. The main reason for getting the bike was to save gas. This is a plus for me both in saving money and ( Read more... )

Cool... ya gota love bikes, I know I save a bunch on gas when ever I get the chance to commute with mine.

Actually I'll be in your fare state in July for a week of training, so who knows maybe we'll be able to eat up some NY fine pavement.

Stay Safe & keep the shiney side up

Of course I read it twice to see that it was an "883 Sportster" and not a "1983 Sportster". If the latter I'd be worried cuz you didn't mention you'd bought a 2nd one for the spare parts... ;-D

Nope, not an 83. There's about a half dozen "Sportsters" in Harley's lineup and almost all are number variations. 883 Low, Iron 883, Nightster, 1200 Low, 1200 Custom, forty-eight, XR1200, all are nice bikes but for my needs the 883 Low was good enough.

Congratulations on your new bike.
We'll have to see if your Harley and my Triumph can get some mileage together sometime.

It's possible. Until I had 1K on the bike I didn't want to do any road trips so as yet I'm not sure how a long ride will be. You're about a 300 mile trip so it might be doable. Question is what roads to take as I don't think I really want to do NJ Pike or Garden State. Either way I'm sure I could figure it out.
