Had a prenatal exam today and got the results back from the ultrasound. Everything is 100% normal and the baby's sizes all line up exactly with his due date. Looks like the scrawny Nieh genes combined with the burly Thompson genes add up to perfectly average-sized offspring. Anyway, good job, kid ( Read more... ) -

This week, I met two of the mothers from the Japanese play group I joined. One has a 2-and-a-half-year-old (Ai-chan) is three months pregnant with her second baby. The other has a two-year-old (Mia-chan) and hopes to start on a second baby soon ( Read more... ) -
21 Weeks
I officially halfway through my pregnancy.
Actually, 20 weeks is supposedly halfway, but it kinda seems like cheating since they start counting the weeks two weeks before the actual date of conception.
I'm getting big. Desperately in need of some good maternity pants.

I feel so much better these days. I only get sick if I drink milk, get upset, or get carsick. I have a lot more energy and a better appetite, too. I've been eating really well and keeping a little food journal to help stay on top of the recommended diet ( Read more... ) -

Not too much is new right now. I have some tight deadlines coming up--it's going to be touch-and-go getting everything done--so most of my time is spent translating and on other un-newsworthy pursuits like buying groceries and eating them (a big part of my life these days).
