A most riveting piece. Prolow takes the conventional innocence of a little girls' slumber party & renders an inventive drama. Readers will be taken on an emotional rollercoaster ride as they struggle to see outside the intense empathy -- & in fact, equally intense love -- Prolow cultivates for Madison, in order to judge the beloved character's ruthless actions. Is she wicked? Is she simply sharp-witted? The answer is difficult. Prolow does maintain a sense of tenderness throughout the work, however -- this is clearly reflected in her gentled ending. Yet the overall feel is quite haunting.
