Certain European systems work also because of the culture within those states. For instance -- thanks to a right-wing 'war on the poor' has left many Americans feeling that the poor do not deserve healthcare, whereas most in other nations believe healthcare is a basic human right.

Basically, I agree with you -- but in America, it'd take a huge move on the part of US culture, as well as government, for European style systems to work here.

For all of everyone's complaints towards Obama, many don't realize the good he's done so far. Really, it's because I find him so humble. Most people in his position would wave their arms around at every tiny accomplishment that they've made; Obama works... quietly, dare I say? He doesn't go out of his way to make a big deal out of the work he does.

Nor has he made such stunning mistakes that we could possibly be furious about, nor mock him for hilarious mistakes either. Sure, he ain't perfect, but he's working with great ideals and doing the best he can. Things cannot, CANNOT be fixed so quickly!

The impatience and ignorance really disgusts me. Americans, generally speaking, have become so accustomed to whining to get our way. We're like little kids throwing tantrums. :/

All true -- but the benefit of that is that the swing will come back to the left next year based on that and today's election results. IOWs -- Republicans can't deflect blame anymore.
