CHARACTER
[series] Touhou Project
[full name] Aya Shameimaru
[age] Over a thousand years at least. She physically appears to be a young woman, though
[gender] Female
[canon point] Post Touhou 12.8: Great Fairy Wars
[reference] Touhou Wikia

[personality]
Aya is described as by most every character in the series as nosy and troublesome. And they would be right, for the most part. But wouldn't you say that's the opinion of most people on the press? Aya, like most journalists, has a steadfast dedication to the "truth". The problem with this "truth" is that it's her version of the truth. And her version of the truth is often filled with speculation and exaggeration. But to her, that is the honest to goodness truth.

Aya is a meddler. She gets involved in everyone's business any time she feels something interesting may be happening. She rarely wants to just sit back and watch. She wants to be in the thick of things, seeing and doing it all with her own perspective. She is never satisfied with second hand accounts, and will go to great lengths to get that one interview or that one photograph. This actually makes her somewhat unique amongst the karasu tengu, who take more traditional fact finding routes more often than not.

Almost in spite of these things, Aya also has a natural want to help others. She believes in youkai equality, peace between youkai and humans, and stooping to give a hand to those worse off than her. She is loyal to the Tengu Tribe, but disagrees with many of their more traditional policies. Class, species, and other factors that tend to divide people are barriers she wants to push through. She does so with her "fair and balanced" approach to news, as well as getting involved personally in several Incidents.

As much as she tries, her news reporting and bohemian attitude tend to rub others the wrong way. From the main characters to her own colleagues, Aya makes a lot of foes more than she does friends. But at the end of the day, she'd sacrifice any one of her feathers to help her. She truly exemplifies the misunderstood "hero". At least in terms of the morally ambiguous lot that makes up Gensokyo's population.

[orientation]
Unknown. ZUN, somewhat notoriously, leaves no subtext of possible romantic relationships between his characters. This leaves a lot of things about their sexuality left entirely open to interpretation.

[appearance]
Aya has a pair of black crow wings that seem to appear or disappear entirely at will. Sometimes she has them, other times she doesn't. Odds are being able to hide one's wings is part of being a long lived karasu tengu. She's also been drawn having pointed ears, but this seems more like an inconsistency in ZUN's artwork.

[wish]
Aya's wish is, to put it simply, to be able to write a story about her experiences in Ukiyo. She is a journalist first and foremost and has a dedication to telling her version of the truth with any experience she has. Given the nature of the world she finds herself in, it would be obvious that she would want to make it the subject of a news story.

[requested house]
no preference

[misc notes]
Aya's ability, manipulatuon of wind, is described in canon as being very straight forward and capable of creating huge gusts and even tornadoes. She does this all with her hauchiwa fan. And, like most in Touhou Project, Aya uses non-lethal combat magic called "danmaku" in battle. Both of these, plus her ability to fly, would be limited by the bracelet.

If nothing else, the man was almost afraid to touch Aya. For this, she could be thankful. Forceful bastards tended to get a geta in the groin... not that she had much choice in this place. Still, she was happy he was being so gentle with her. She could reward that much at least. Still, he could stand to be a bit more bold... And she had an idea of what might help him be a little more confident.

She placed a finger to his lips, indicating for him to calm down and quit telling her how beautiful he thought she was for a moment. Her other hand went to his hakama, removing the ties with skill and care. He was visibly sweating from nervousness... Was it his first time? Well as bumbling as he was, Aya couldn't be surprised. She gave a smirk.

"It's alright," she whispered. "I'm going to make sure you enjoy this. I've been around long enough to know what a man like you needs, okay? So just trust me..."

She continued her work, pulling away the front panel of his hakama and removing any other garments between her and what she was after. A certain smell caught her nostrils immediately... It had been awhile for her since she had been with a man like this. But she thought you could never really forget that scent. That aroma of masculine musk was so unique that nothing else could really compare.

She leaned down, eventually laying against his lap as she pulled him free. Gentle strokes were given. It was already so stiff... She gave a gentle smile. This was fine. She was okay with this. Regardless of what situation put her here, this man was only that. A man with certain needs to be fulfilled. And she could handle just that. After all, the truth had facets. And this was part of that truth, wasn't it? Not every man who purchased this kind of treatment was despicable. Sometimes they were just lonely. She understood that.

After a moment, she brushed her hair aside and began to take him into her mouth. She could focus on the story later... for now, she wanted to enjoy a bit of that side of the "truth". The side most people rarely understood.
