If you've joined the work of Google/gmail, I think they have a "websites" option, but I've never used it. Might be worth looking into.
Even if I'm not close by, at least you have me to discuss boring things like bills and responsibilities with. But I get what you mean. I don't have the "too much younger but will still go to karaoke night" kind of local friends at the moment. Loneliness is an odd creature.
Also, your whole "future homeless" thing made me laugh out loud.
