いっらしゃいませ!
Welcome!
Hi! Here's just a random little translation about idol's eco activities. I only translated responses of Arashi, KAT-TUN, NEWS, plus Toma. ^^ I don't guarantee good accuracy and perfect wording for this translation, sorry. This is more kinda like a rough translation, and that's why I didn't post to any other LJ comms. Thank you Krooxy and her friend for helping!

Arashi
Aiba Masaki
I save paper cups.
Limit the use of paper cup to the smallest
In places like the studio and the waiting room in the dressing room, since the number of paper cup accumulates, you tend to use a new one every time you drink. But, I keep using the same one.
Matsumoto Jun
I save water.
Be aware even when washing dishes
When washing dishes, I turn the water off except for times when I rinse them. It's like I'm saving water as much as possible. Because each individual's little acts of dedication are important.
Ninomiya Kazunari
The spirit of "Mottainai!"
[mottainai = a sense of regret concerning waste when the intrinsic value of an object or resource is not properly utilized. it can be uttered alone when something useful such as food is wasted. source: wikipedia]
The trick of that being my favorite phrase
I wonder if it's always saying "mottainai." If I don't turn off the light/electricity, I have the feeling of "mottainai," and say the phrase when thinking of that. I think that can be connected to eco.
Ohno Satoshi
I save water in the shower
Even in the winter, I shower for 5 minutes!
Although I'm the shower type, even during winter, I put water in the bathtub and shower for about 5 minutes. Because of that, I think I only save a bit more water than other people do. (laugh)
[i don't quite understand the part about ohno putting water in the bathtub...]
Sakurai Sho
I save water.
I turn off the water and wash the body.
Whenever I use water, I make sure I don't leave the water running. Also when I'm taking a shower, I turn off the water properly and wash my body.
[i'm assuming that sho means turning off the water when putting on shampoo...?]
NEWS
Yamashita Tomohisa
I collect water bottle caps.
Use bottle caps for vaccine
I collect the caps of plastic water bottles. I bring them to specific places, and it's like turning them into vaccines that can prevent children from getting sick. Everyone, let's do it!
[not sure if the bottle caps can actually be made into vaccines. what i know is that you can donate the caps and that'll help children get polio vaccine in japan.]
Nishikido Ryo
I don't use the plastic bags from convenience stores.
I grab them [things bought in convenience stores] with my hands and go back!
I don't use bags when I go shopping. When I go to convenience stores to buy drinks, and of course, when I buy clothes, I just take them with my hands and go back. (laugh)
Shige Kato
Separate the trash
I only put that into practice.
Eco activities...I separate the trash! i do that properly! But, that's all I do. From now on, I'll pay attention to more various things.
Koyama Keiichiro
I collect water bottle caps.
Be nice to the Earth and life!
I have a few hundreds plastic bottle caps. It's like getting a vaccine for a child. After hearing that, I collect all the bottle caps after drinking.
Tegoshi Yuya
I turn off the lights frequently.
I contribute to eco by saving energy!
When I'm in the car, it's like I don't use the heating or air conditioning. And at home, I frequently turn off the lights! These are little things, but they're important.
Masuda Takahisa
I reuse plastic bottles.
I fill them with water and walk with them.
To reduce garbage, I occasionally reuse plastic bottles. I wash the bottles after using them, then I fill them up with water at home. Aren't people who reuse water bottles admirable?
KAT-TUN
Kamenashi Kazuya
I use organic shampoo and soap.
I use organic products/necessities.
All my shampoo and detergent are organic, which is better for the environment. It's because at the end drainage flows into the ocean. When I go surfing in the ocean, I can feel the importance of water.
Akanishi Jin
I separate the trash.
It has become my daily practice.
The basic thing to do got to be separating the trash! Like flammable, non-flammable, and water bottles. I'm not especially aware of eco, it's more like it has become my daily practice naturally.
Taguchi Junnosuke
I set my air conditioning to 28°C [or 82°F].
I endure even if it's fiercely hot!
This summer, I raised the air conditioning by 1°C and set it to 28°C, and adjusted the fan level. Although it becomes cold, I don't use the heater that much. It's good to be wrapped in ablanket in the winter.
Tanaka Koki
I separate the trash.
It might be good to make it a habit!
I separate the trash. Although I think it's quite troublesome perhaps, it's good to make it a habit. Since I'm the type who doesn't turn on the air conditioning, I guess that's eco too.
Ueda Tatsuya
I don't use air conditioning.
Losing weight is is an eco activity!?
This summer I almost didn't turn on the air conditioning. Actually, it's because sweating will naturally lead to weight loss...(laugh) As a result, that became my eco activity.
Nakamaru Yuichi
I separate plastic bottles.
If you're used to it, it's easy!
I recycle the plastic bottles after I finish drinking. I take off the caps, peel off the labels properly, and throw them away. It felt troublesome at the beginning, but it's easy after I got used to it.
Ikuta Toma
I collect water bottle caps.
My dad taught me.
I collect plastic water bottle caps. My dad's company was doing this activity, so everyone in my family has been doing that from a long time ago. We made a place in the kitchen to put the caps, and we store/accumulate them there.
