It is amazing how to talking can really open up your eyes in regards to how things truly are.
Friday night I had an impromtu (more or less) conference with the KISS community. Only about 3 or four people showed up and I thought to myself: "Well Red, you're trying to fix things and you have to start SOMEWHERE, no matter how small a group it can

I'm really starting to get to the point where I wanna declare it all dead. I just think KiSS and Kami got left behind when the internet got bigger and more accessable. Kamishibai still uses tiny 200 x 112 pics and midi music while I can't even get KiSS to work on a computer that has Windows XP. Meanwhile things like Flash and streaming video are more accessable than they ever were, leaving our storytelling device looking sort of janky. It's like, how do we get an audience when we have to compete with all that?

I think what might be good and effective is if it is at least given a try. Otaku World DOES get a lot of hits per day based on the name it possesses alone. Maybe that can lay a foundation.

What about rapidshare? its not perfect but its a place to upload and as long as there's a download every 30days atleast it should stay up. Maybe OW could use rapidshare links on their site to host free content. Lots of other sites do that or megaupload...

I've taken all the comments and posted them over there in a long post (with no names, but in quotes).
You brought up some good points for how things would need to work on the kamishibai end, which is important. Where as we may be going through the same general insanity as the KISS community we each have different problems when you get down to it. I mean they have a thing with the Adult Kiss Site and we've never had that big an issue with submitting adult kamis and having them taken down.
The Top 20 thing is noted though...Arima said something similar. I think it'll probably be on a volunteer basis. So we'd offer up our work and say "This will work for a showcase" or "I like this enough to offer it as a representative". We also wouldn't have the whole series up, just like one or two episodes up for grabs and the rest would be behind the "exclusive" marker.
I guess in the end it really is just a larger expansion of the OW Free Zone, but with the potential for us to delegate the content.
