Name: Touma Kamijou
Fandom: To Aru Majutsu no Index (A Certain Magicial Index)
Gender: Male
Age: 15~16
Time Period: End of Volume 22 (Light Novels)
Wing Color: Blue
History: BIRI BIRI.
Personality: When it comes to being deep and complication, Touma isn't exactly the most complex guy on earth. His actions depending on the situation may become really unpredictable, but he's still a very simple guy. From first glances, Touma is a pretty cyncial, aloof and lethargic guy. If you were sitting in a classroom with him, he would be that one person who is staring absentmindedly outside of the window when everyone else is joking around or sleeping in the middle of a lecture. He has a somewhat lazy outlook on life and does not seem to have any motivations beyond that. But in reality, Touma is actually pretty intelligent when it comes to certain things. For example, he was shown to be really good at physics during the World War III arc. But since bad luck follows him around, he can never get a break with getting through school without something horrible happening to his homework, him getting attacked by a magician, his freeloading nun getting kidnapped, his home city being placed under attack by an entire group magicians or even being in the middle of a world war where magic and science are clashing for the right of dominanice. But the main focus of all his problems is the power within his right hand. Touma has a special ability that cannot be measured or detracted through Esper power tests. In Touma's eyes at the start of the series, his right hand is completely useless to him since it kills any good luck around him and even God's blessings. He still shoulders this pessimistic outlook on his right hand until he ends up meeting a young nun named Index.

Index ended up becoming the turning point in Touma's life by exposing him to magic and protecting her from violent magicians. But those magicians actually happened to be old friends of Index who were ordered to erase the memories in her head due to fabricated lies from the church. It was at that point where Touma had decided to save Index's memories by "killing" the magic that was responsible with his right hand, but as a result, Touma ended up losing over half of his brain cells and losing his memories. While Touma did end up losing the memories in his brain, the memories in his heart still remain. The 'old' Touma that had desired to become a hero in the past had died and now the 'new' Touma that has forgotten everything is now living the ideal that his old self wanted to be - A hero to everyone. And he now believes that his right hand can help make miracles for others instead of breaking them. Touma enjoys fighting for others and helping others for simply himself. It's a promise that he made from his 'past' self to his 'current' self that makes him who he is. And also, even though he says that this own life is unfortunate, he also considers himself very unfortunate. A lot of people in the world go along and live their lives carefree without knowing how much suffering other people are going through. Touma, on the other hand, would rather stay unfortunate and get himself involved into the other people's suffering in order to help them. So in a way, this makes him the luckiest guy in the world. A lot of people do look up to him and see him as a heroic figure, Touma himself still sees himself as a normal person. He's not arrogant or overly cocky because of the feats he has complimshed. As the novel states on the types of 'heroes' that the story has to offer, Touma is pretty much the hero who charges forward to do what he feels is right within his heart even if no one else agrees with his opinion. Still, because of the fact that he lost his memories, Touma acts carefully around who he interacts with since they could be an old acquaintance of his since they could discover the fact that he lost his memories. The reasoning behind this is because Touma does not want to hurt the ones around him by revealing he doesn't know them. In a lot of ways, that makes Touma two-faced since he's lying to people and even to himself which makes him living a fake life. Touma sometimes has internal struggles with himself since he has no idea who he interacted with, what kind of relationships he had with people and what kind of person he was. While his pessimistic outlook on his life still remains, he still has great ideals towards the good of mankind.

Now Touma tends to be determined to do something up to the point where it's pretty stupid. The guy can be hot-headed and stubborn to a point where it truly ridlicious and it really irritates people. If there's a huge goal in mind, he'll discard everything that is given at the moment and purse it. For example, if Index gets kidnapped for the umpteenth time? He'll run around recklessly through the city and won't hesitate to yell and complain at people who stop him about his situation. And then, Touma will not hesitate to punch out a girl. As much as he honestly does not want to kick a girl's ass and is actually a gentlemen when it comes down to it, he won't hold back on anyone (male or female) that shows disrespect to human life or harms his friends. And a funny character quirk other than his bad luck is that Touma tends to (and in the third person on occasions) go on long tangents about his own misfortune or on the ideals of others to correct them. To some people, he's like a hot-blooded teacher who lectures you and solves all of your problems by punching you in the face. But other than that? Touma is simply an average high school student. He can get easily irritated when there's a situation he doesn't understand or when someone breaks the limits of common sense and he's very genre savvy about certain subjects. He'll even break the fourth wall if the situation calls for it. Like when it comes to overly complicated magical and supernatural explanations, he bases his knowledge on video games/anime/manga and other media. He'll even throw jabs at dating sims whenever he gets involved with a girl and how he would rather be uninvolved in growing a harem. Like for example, he'll jab at the the fact how certain love comedy situations he ends up in can be considered as an 'event' which gets you closer to a girl... Or in Touma's case, he always gets himself a Bad Ending due to his poor choice with words or his blunt nature. He'll even tease cute girls sometimes or snark at his perverted friends whenever he's in his casual moments. Overall, Touma is that one guy who is caught up in being the hero within the crazy events between science and magic... But honestly? He a normal kid who simply wants to finish his homework.

+ Actually much more intelligent than he looks
+ Has a strong sense of justice
+ Positive towards the values of others
+ Always willing to help others (even if he sometimes doesn't want to get himself into trouble)
+ Happens to be a quick thinker
+ Precognition. Touma is able to subconisually sense an attack coming by subconsciously feeling the AIM fields or Telesma around the area and guide Imagine Breaker along with his body to minizine the damage taken.
+ Does being genre savvy towards the 4th wall count as a skill???
+ Selfless up to be point where he doesn't care if he gets credit or not as long as the day is saved.
+ He's one amazing cook
+ Was born with his Imagine Breaker (The power within his right hand that can negate supernatural abilities via magic, esper or divine related.)
+ Can be very unpredictable with his actions
+ He's charismatic and easy to get along with depending on the situation
+ Great street fighter
+ Has high pain tolerance and endurance. (For example, Touma gotten his arm cut off and was still able to keep fighting.)

Weaknesses:
- Pretty pessimistic and cynical towards his own life and himself (due to his special ability)
- Has no motivations outside of saving others
- Stubbornly will get himself involved in life threatening situations
- Has horrible choosing with words that can get him into trouble. (FOOT IN MOUTH)
- Tends to act on his own regardless of the situation
- Can be easily manipulated into working with others (for good or bad)
- Has a talent of getting into bad situations and drawing others into them
- Was born with his Imagine Breaker (IB is said to negate his own good luck and it can get in the way of certain situations that involve magic or espers.)
- Can be very unpredictable with his actions
- Can be slightly mean and cold to people unintentionally
- Tends to shout and go on long tangents when he's under pressure sometimes (... he's a weirdo like that)
- Can be really dense sometimes. (He practually has a legion of girls in love with him and he isn't aware of any of their feelings.)
- He can be hilariously weak to older women sometimes.
- Reckless. If it's for a friend, Touma will gladly break into a church alone and declare war with over 200 armed nuns.

Abilites:
Imagine Breaker - The Imagine Breaker is a very mysterious ability within Touma’s right hand. The first thing we learn about it is the fact that it can negate supernatural abilities. It can be magical, esper, curse or even divine. This can be both a blessing and a curse for Touma in general. As long as a power hits Touma's right hand, it can be negated. (For example, a electromaster's lightning bolt or a Mage’s Fire Ball) However, if Touma is attacked on any other part of his body, then Imagine Breaker will be ineffective.

Let’s have a demonstration of Imagine Breaker in action, shall we? Mikoto is a sore loser, shhh...

Now this isn’t just limited to magical spells or esper’s killer moves. Imagine Breaker can affect magical items as well by making them utterly useless (such as charms, clothes, etc) and he can even affect magic circles as long as Touma uses his right hand to dispel the magic. Touma himself cannot control Imagine Breaker like an on and off switch. It’s always working and will always take affect as long as there’s a supernatural concept it can work against. But there are certain limits to Imagine Breaker's abilities. For example, Touma cannot negate a person's soul or lifeforce simply by shaking hands with them and he cannot negate the magicial 'leylines' that exist within the Earth. In Luceti, I’m willing to have IB temporary seal away the magical proprieties on specific magical items for a certain amount of time (Three to five minutes tops) if Touma ever comes into contact with any. Some characters rely on their magical items in battle or everyday life, so I wouldn’t want step on any toes. And since Luceti’s journals are a mixture of magic and science, Imagine Breaker won’t be affecting those at all whenever Touma touches them with his right hand.

Imagine Breaker can also make an esper unable to read Touma’s mind or use telepathy on him. Now there are some spells that are strong enough to surpass the speed of Imagine Breaker’s nullification and take more time to fully negate. (Like Index’s John Pen Mode, Fiamma’s Giant (30-50ft) Flaming Sword and Accelerator’s Wings). However, Touma has learned how to use this weakness to his advantage. In the World War III arc, Touma has been able to redirect spells and blasts like those with his right hand without fully negating the power completely. For example, if a giant beam is shot at Touma, he can redirect it to another direction by a mere twist of his wrist like light bouncing off of a prism.

Also supernatural beings such as Angels are subconsciously afraid of Touma’s right hand because of the power it holds. It’s like whenever you’re about to touch a hot iron or see a giant spider. Your natural instinct is to not touch it, right? So as long as the being has sharp enough instincts to sense the Imagine Breaker, they’ll probably shy away a bit from Touma or be wary of him. Now Touma cannot fully negate a supernatural being with his Imagine Breaker unless they have a "core" or "heart" within themselves that he can properly touch and destroy. This is proven at the end of Volume 22, when Touma was able to send an Arcangel back into heaven simply by punching it with his right hand. The angel was not destroyed, but simply sent back to the realm where it originally belonged.

Precognition: After being through a myraid of battles, Touma is now able to sense a magicial or psychic attack coming by subconsciously feeling the AIM fields or Telesma around the area and guide Imagine Breaker along with his body to minimize the damage taken. Touma himself is not aware that he has this ability.

Regeneration: It's been subtly implied through the series, but bought to life in Volume 22. Whenever Touma's right arm was cut off by Fiamma of the Right, Touma was able to regrow a new one. The details behind this are unknown, but it might have to do with 'another power' that Imagine Breaker is sealing away inside of Touma.

Samples (ALL samples must be set in Luceti-verse.)

First Person:
Um... Please excuse me! I know this is going to sound like a really bizarre rant, so please bear with me. Let this goofy spiky haired protagonist vent out his frustrations for a moment! You see, I, Kamijou Touma happen to be in a huge bind. If this is heaven, then I really need to find a way to get out of it. There are some people-- A lot of people back home that I left behind after being reckless again, so I need to bow my head and apologize with all my might. Especially to a certain silver-haired nun... But the problem is that, I can't do that whenever I'm here. I need to find a way out. If there's a back door or a cheat code that someone knows how to leave, then you'll be in my debt. Ah, speaking of which...

If I could describe this as a game, no, I think I will go down that route. If I've just completed disc one, then now I'm on disc two. However, this isn't how I was expecting the next story point to go on. Am I about to open the hidden route where "the main character declares war with God and his angels"? Will the final boss truly be God himself? If I pray to him, then will he give me a second life? To be honest, I'd much rather resolve all of this peacefully. I've already been through one war already, so I don't think there's any need for another. Still, getting back to the point. There's a certain freeloading nun who will be really angry with me being gone and she'll start to bite everything. My tables, my video games, my comic books... Everything.

Haaah... This could be a whole bigger scale of a worldwide crisis than Fiamma of the Right ever was. And much to my misfortune, this is something that I can't stop with my right hand. All I can do is bend down, clap my hands and go "Please calm down, Index-hime" before getting my skull fractured by those teeth--! Hey, you over there! Don't laugh! My life may have been built on piles of misfortunes and failures, but this Kamijou-san isn't about to become your sideshow comedian!

Third Person: It was simply another day in the village of Luceti. The birds were singing, the villagers were bustling with life and activity. However, there was one person who was not appreciating the beautiful scenery so much. Bent down and slumped with his face against the wall of a building, a normal high school boy named Touma Kamijou was attempting to cope with this new situation in the best way possible. Attempting to turn his negative thoughts into positive thoughts, but only then... He would realize that he would continue to get more negative thoughts.

"Fufufu... This world is so bright, yet my future is lookin' dark~" He tried to keep his spirits up by singing a little song to himself, but that had ended up getting him more depressed. His bizarre laughing and the negative aura that he was bringing in had made some of the villagers stare oddly at him. Some were even whispering to each other and questioning if this newcomer had any sanity left in his body. A child even asked his mother what was wrong with the boy and only gotten a "Don’t look at him or you’ll get infected" as a response. It was his first day here and it seemed like he was already becoming the village idiot... or just a shady looking guy. However, there was one creature that had approached him and meowed... And that was an innocent black cat who seemed attracted to this goofy looking boy.

A black cat crossing his path right now may have foreshadowed bad luck, but the spiky haired boy did not see it this way. Touma had perked his head up, turned his body around to see the cat and noticed how much this cat had reminded him of Sphinx. That name belonged to a certain little kitten that Index had kept in his dorm back home. He could not help, but wonder how much Sphinx had grown up by now. The chances were that he was not a kitten anymore. But once those new thoughts of home had flashed through his head, a new strength and resolve was born from within his heart. That’s right... Touma could not get down in the dumps because of something small like getting dropped into a new world. This ordinary boy had saved the lives of many people and the world numerous times, so why would something like this get him defeated? Things were not over for him just yet.

As the cat tilted his head at the boy, Touma had instinctively balled up his right hand into a fist. Our hero was becoming filled with a rush of newfound determination...! He needed to formulate a plan on what he was going to do from this point. First, he would have to collect information and see if there was a way back home. However, if Touma could not find a way home, then he would have to keep on looking for ways to get out. If someone else was looking for a way home, then he could team up with him or her. Humans were naturally stronger whenever they worked together, so they could accomplish anything once they put their minds to it. Not to mention, Touma was a stubborn person by default, so he was positive that a way would present itself to him.

Touma was finding himself smiling at the cat now; he couldn’t believe how friendly it was for a stray... He realized that he was already making his first new friend in this bizarre and scary place. Even if he did not expect an animal to help him out, Touma had stretched out his hand to the cat. "Um, I know you probably can’t understand me... But I feel like I owe you one for helping me getting my mind together. Let’s be friends from here on out, okay?" As if the cat was responding to his feelings, it leaned its face into his hand, opened its mouth... And in a comedic fashion, the cat had bit down on his entire hand.

How the cat could have managed to open its mouth that wide, nobody knew. However, one unfortunate boy knew that he was already experiencing pain from an annoying animal that he just met. There was pause as his face went from red to blue… Then with all of his might, Touma yelled out his signature catchphrase that echoed throughout the entire village.

"GYAAAAAA!! SUCH MISFORTUNEEEEEE---!!!"
