"GOG holds 'Last Chance' sale on 35 games being dropped from its lineup"

Because GOG is changing its pricing scheme to implement pricing parity for other currencies, some publishers are apparently pulling their games from the service. I'm not sure who, if anyone, is the "bad guy" here. I just know that both GOG and these publishers are going to lose business over this.

I'm assuming what this means is that they're trying to do away with that much hated practice of people in some areas paying a lot MORE for a game, even though their currency is actually stronger than the american dollar. In some cases, even after adjusting for the currency (if it's weaker than the USD) it still ends up being a lot more expensive ( ... )

They got the PR lapdogs out on this one as well btw. "The prices are set at where the market can bear."

This has always translated to "Prices are set to exploit the customer as much as possible to maximize our profits."

You can see why they prefer to say the former when defending the idea yes? Can't be popular telling it like it is.

Hmm, yeah, if they're just buttmad that GOG isn't letting them price gouge in certain regions, then fuck 'em and their games. When I checked the list of games, all of the ones that I would have wanted (which wasn't many) were ones that I'd already bought before, either on GOG or on Steam. Had they not been there, I probably wouldn't have bought them, solely due to lack of exposure and me not hearing about them otherwise. So, I wonder if the lack of sales they'll have due to them not being on GOG at all will make up for what little they might gain for being able to charge a bit more in some regions than others.
