It just goes to show you how bad the situation is getting when Joe has to add an extra category for shit like this. And you're right that it's mostly due to DLC whoring and other bullshit tactics that any game ended up on this list. In many cases he says in the video that the games were things he really wanted to like, and that there were parts about them that he saw shining through - but then the microtransaction bullshit and other things simply ruined it.

And this list is only showing the games he personally played and reviewed. If I had made a similar list it'd be completely different.

And to be honest it'd probably be shorter - if only because I don't slap money down for games nearly as often as I use to. (And the game industry has itself to thank for that.)

I liked how during the Star Wars Battlefront bit, he was talking about how if EA does this again (as if it were somehow not a fucking given that they'll do it again), he was "... literally going to mobilize the Angry Army in an official capacity against pre-ordering, season passes, and all the future DLC..."

And all I could do was be like, holy shit, wow, what the fuck is he waiting for? I mean, really, if he was going to mobilize the Angry Joe Army or whatever over this shit, then why hasn't he already done it, and I mean, like, years ago? Why wait for this one specific game (or, rather, a future sequel to this one specific game, apparently) before doing anything about it? This very same goddamn horseshit has been going on for so many years now with so many other games, via not just EA but so many other companies as well. It's not like "they done fucked it up" only recently, after all. They done fucked it up, and have been continually and increasingly re-fucking it up, for at least a decade now.

"We're not gonna take it much ... )

And that, of course, assumes that they even agree with Joe in the first place.

Just take a look at this, the currently top-rated comment under the video, and then look at the first reply to it.

Comment: "Thank you Joe for sticking up to Microtransactions. Don't stop, even when these casual gamers that have spent 100s of dollars on Destiny and other games keep hating."

First reply: "Some people enjoy that part, though."

The asininity on display there, in that reply (as well as farther down in the thread), is what we, as consumers who fucking hate this bullshit and want it gone from the video game industry forever, have to put up with, and is exactly why it will never actually go away. There are far too many clueless, gullible, militantly defensive morons like that who prop up such corruption for it to ever become unprofitable enough for the companies to stop doing it.

And that's not even counting definite non-fans of Joe who are all like "Baaaaawwwww, Mr. Angry Man said something mean about my favowitest game ever! Fuck that ... )
