"Another Kain bites the dust"

Nosgoth shutting down huh? Almost like telling them to cancel that piece of shit way back would have saved them time and money. Whoops!

Oh wait, I DID tell them to shut it down! I had a day long argument with their PR guy in some GAF thread. OH WELL GUESS I WAS RIGHT

I must admit I completely forgot that this was even a Thing. (As I obviously had no intention of playing it either.)

I went through the Kain series up to Defiance myself - was planning on doing Blood Omen 2 but never got around to it based on things you told me - the shitting on continuity, etc. I think they might as well bury the franchise completely at this point.

If you already have the game, and if you can take the storyline with a grain of salt, the gameplay itself is... okay, I guess. Pretty fun, for what it is. Well, if you set it to autoblock (such that Kain automatically blocks incoming hits while you hold the block button) instead of trying to block shit manually (by trying to time presses of the block button to the incoming hits), anyway. Or, at least, I found it almost unplayable when trying to use that manual block shit, even if manually blocking is supposed to build your special moves meter more quickly or whatever. I don't really remember much about it.

But yeah, in my opinion, the BO2 plot just takes a huge, steaming dump all over the lore built up from the previous games. Characters that died in previous games are inexplicably back in this one, and that's even when you take into account the wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey blob that is the rest of the Legacy of Kain series, even all the way back to the first Blood Omen game ( ... )
