"STORY MODE SKINS ARE HERE. FREE-ISH FOR THE FIRST WEEK!"

Apr 12, 2016 13:20

To repeat: "Free-ish for the first week." Their words, not mine. After that week (which is already over, anyway, as of today), they'll cost $2.99. And apparently, they "couldn't" give it away completely for free on some platforms even during that week, due to arbitrary bullshit ( Read more... )

"To celebrate the dramatic conclusion of Story Mode’s first seasonHm. So I guess if all 5 chapters are out for Story Mode... it's still not the end? I have no idea if it ended on a cliffhanger or not of course since I haven't so much as looked at this since their completely fucked up physical copy release for consoles - where they only put 1/5 of the game on the disc along with a DLC coupon for the remaining 4. (Which defeats the purpose of people wanting a fucking physical copy ( ... )

Like I said in another post or comment or whatever from a while back, the way things are now, it's more accurate to just mentally replace "Mojang" with "Microsoft" every time you see a story about "Mojang" doing something shitty and stupid like this.

And I'm honestly kind of surprised that there even still are PS3/PS4 versions of Minecraft at all, what with Mojank being owned by Micro$hit now and all, because you know if Micro$hit had gotten their hands on Mojank before those version had been released, they never would have seen the light of day to begin with.

But then, Mojank was releasing shitty DLC for the non-PC versions (or non-"not Windows 10" PC versions, I guess you have to specify now) even before they sold out to Micro$hit, so I dunno if we can really blame Mojank's shittiness on Micro$hit after all, at least not entirely.

imo, probably the only reason there's a PS3 and PS4 (and Vita) version for Minecraft is simply because the versions were released - or at least in major development - prior to Microsoft taking over.

At that point I guess they figured they could milk some extra money from non-xbox players by releasing/updating them.

Of course they probably wanted to desperately avoid "oh look at that. Microsoft's shafting the Sony console players of Minecraft." blame that would have definitely been leveled at them.

I just blame the guy that ran away the instant he got backlash for trying to put his foot down on the server abuse (servers bilking players for "ranks" and shit for ingame perks - some servers to the tune of 1000 dollars or more.)
