Before I even watch this, I am going to say that the answer should be a resounding, "Fuck no, bugs shouldn't be ignored when reviewing modern game releases, especially if it's game-breaking bullshit. If game companies don't want bad reviews for their games, then game companies shouldn't release broken roach motels. Period."Now, to actually ( Read more... )

Here's an example of a game getting worse after a patch. A very recent (As in a couple days recent) example at that.

Essentially: Capcom wanted to stop "certain" people from hacking the executable to enable "trainers". From what I gather this is essentially adding a basic AI so the game will play it's limited singleplayer on it's own to earn up the huge amount of Fight Money to buy whatever DLC is available for purchase with the in-game currency. (Some of it can't be bought with Fight money, but instead a separate in-game currency which is only obtainable by purchasing it with real money.)

In an effort to stamp out the ability of people to remove the grinding Capcom built into the game to encourage you to purchase more of the DLC with real money, they did it sloppily and opened up computers with the game installed to serious security holes.

Yeah, Capcom has been mostly on my "do not buy, ever" shitlist for years now, precisely because of ridiculous bullshit like this. The only time in recent memory that I was willing to still buy Capcom stuff was when it was part of a Humble Bundle thing a year or two ago. I don't think I'd buy SFV now even if I did see it on a similar bundle (or at least, I wouldn't buy such a bundle because of SFV, and even then I'd likely never actually install SFV).
