Do me a favor everyone... please reply to this and tell me your defination of a friend... because some people (Don't worry Shannon/kim/beth it's not you, this is different) have made me think that the term friend doesn't mean a damn thing. Respect is something earned, not given... maybe I give my respect out too freely... So please, tell me

I guess to me a friend is someone who listens to you when you need help/advice/etc. because if you are a good friend, you do the same for them. A true friend is also someone who you could trust at the lowest points in your life. And you're right, friendship (true friendship) is something earned.

a friend is someone who will agree that you did something stupid, but will look past it, only because of the fact that you approached them and told them what that stupid thing was.

a friend is chosen family, and if i do something so stupid to lose a friend, then i'm not worth having as one.

a friend is someone always willing to listen, even when they have a mile long list of problems of their own to deal with.

a friend is a second form of family, where there is a bond of trust. Someone where you that if you needed someone to talk to they will do their best to listen. Witch you would want to do for them as well.
