Dinner is at least a quiet affair, largely due to the fact that Merry and Dennis decided to camp out in the attic. Sebastian is quietly relieved that Daniel decided to take dinner downstairs with him; he doesn't want to deal with the dust and creaking. Which could be either the boards or his joints, he thinks ruefully

Daniel is pretty much just resting his head on the table. He had thought about looking at books but had failed to see the point really.

"Daniel?" Soft and gentle, as always. He pulls up a chair, sits down next to him.

He looks up a little then sits up. "Sorry."

"Nothing to be sorry for," he says easily. "How are you doing in your studies of magic?"
