i caught his little "slips" while watching the show too :) good to see someone make something from them :D

Hatter was good at editing all the meaningful things out of his nattering, well, had been…until his entire world was shaken up, spun upside down and re-formed into the shape of a very stubborn, beautiful little oyster.

That net between his brain and his tongue that caught all the meaningful things and shoved them down had ripped into tiny shreds. For the first time words needed to be chosen and if they weren’t he ended up on the uncomfortable side of an sharply assessing blue gaze.

The assessing gaze bit makes me think of when she asks him "What do you mean they were drained?" and he just has this look like ...Oh shit...said too much...change the subject! Change the subject!
