The project of the year that really caught my attention (so, not the dissertation then) was the ridiculous-sounding A Century of Books. That is, you read a book published in each year of the century. I'd thought about it a couple of times before but dismissed it as being way too much faffing about what with finding a book to read for each year and

What an excellent idea! I admire you for finishing it at all, let alone so quickly.
I misread 1925 and 1926 together as The Bread Also Rises, which seemed like a nice combination.

I should really read some more George MacKay Brown. I've only read Six Lives of Fankle the Cat, which is a children's book which I remember loving. We met him once, and he seemed lovely.
