terrible news. Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter is dead after a freak accident- a sting ray right to the chest. it actually happened where i had my program orientation- Cairns on the Great Barrier Reef. they sent out a phone message about it, which just shows how attached people here were to him. he was kind of like an Australian national hero. it ( Read more... )

well my weekend was pretty good. relaxing. went to the Ekka with Lesley and Emily on Saturday. it's sort of a fair/expo that happens every year. it's a pretty big deal, and that's actually why Wednesday was a public holiday- so that everyone would be able to go. but we'd been warned not to go on Wednesday, since it would be way too crowded. instead ( Read more... )
