The thing about torture is:
Screw the morality debate. It's not remotely effective or efficient so we shouldn't even have to debate if the cost of human dignity is worth the benefit. BECAUSE THERE AREN'T REALLY BENEFITS.

what debate? the terrorists weren't trying to extract any information out of the victims with power screw drivers.

as for Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the information garnered from him through aggressive interrogation yielded benefits. although these same measures may prove useless on another person, since everyone is different and not everyone has the knowledge that Khalid Shaikh Mohammed does.
