Two thoughts: the way to shop Whole Foods on a budget is to go in with a list, and buy private label (i.e. 365) stuff whenever possible. The stores have great stuff, but are also masterpieces of encouraging impulse buys - having a list seriously helps.

Thanks for the advice on Whole Foods! I never understood what I don't like about the new store, but I think it is the impulse-stimulating design. Josh in particular cannot stay focused--I feel like we stay there for hours! But of course, the more familiar you get with it, the easier it is.

And I could not agree more with William Morris!
