Cindy the SRNA - Week 13

Aug 22, 2010 00:15

I did it! First clinical rotation done! Passed! I really was able to do it! YAY!!!!

This week was kind of ok. Went with Mark & Sandy over the weekend. Sandy is so sick, it's scary. She's having these freezing spells. She literally "freezes," and doesn't respond, or even blink, to anything except putting your finger near her eye. You could shake her and she won't snap out of it. No one is really sure what is wrong with her. I've been guessing neurological complications from lupus. It's the only thing that really makes any kind of sense. Her docs are giving her the run-around, though. I keep harassing them to come to the city, we'll see if they ever get the chance. Insurance issues. :(

Clinical~wise, nothing too exciting went on. Didn't do peds b/c the daughter of my nemesis, Dr Grumpy (dude who made me cry), needed a T&A. She was really cute though. Too bad her dad's a grump. Her mom is hot, though. I was shocked. Also was shocked Grumpy had such a young kid. Figured he was a grandparent, LOL.

Spent a day w/ the Reverend Dr. This dude is a pilot, priest and doctor. We had a great convo about food and cooking lessons in Europe. Yum yum. But he was in a grumpy mood. Kept complaining that he was going to kill his parishioners if they keep waking him up on work nights. LOL, poor guy. Also got to try alines with him. I got 2 sticks and nothing but venous blood (LOL, WAT). Doc tried and ended up jabbing the poor pt 20 times in both wrists trying to get the line in. Poor pt.

Spent the last day w/ Dr G, my favorite attending. Gonna miss the eccentric bugger. Got his email address, hopefully, he writes back. <3
