Cindy the SRNA - Week 14
*sigh* Vacation is over and it's back to skool. Yay...
This semester promises to be a whopper. Lots of shit to do. On the bright side, I should have plenty of time to do it in clinicals, since I'M NOT FUCKING DOING SHIT THERE! Hot damn, I've never been so bored as I have this last week! No wonder they added "Lag" to this place's name, because it most certainly does!
I was in at 6:30am on Friday and didn't have a thing to do until 11am. I was so bored, I wandered into a residents room to watch them take care of pts.
This is me and my coordinator on Thursday:
Me: If there's nothing going on in my room, can I take over another room?
CC: No, sorry.
Me: Can I go watch another room?
CC: Er, no, not really.
Me: Can I sit here and talk with my preceptor about anesthesia?
CC: Depends on what they're doing... Didn't you bring any textbooks you can read?
I just am too used to the fast pace of VB. I almost always did 5-10 cases a day. If I was done with one room, I could bounce into another. That's why I ended the summer with 226 cases. At this place, I'm lucky I get 2 cases a day. This sucks.
And furthermore, I'm there for peds and I'm not even getting any peds cases!
This really blows. :(
