I don't know if you wrote this entry because you're experimenting with writing or if you're documenting personal experiences or both, but, for obvious reasons, it hits close to home for me.
It also makes me wonder if this is a common theme for other graduates of EA. Do you keep in touch with any of them?
Really? Trolling some Zionist message boards, it seems fairly typical thinking to me. Though I'm not sure how much it's a combination of a persecution-complex and simple bigotry for them to say "All the Arabs/Muslims/Liberals are out to kill us."
Trolling Zionist message boards, and you find that this viewpoint is typical? That's like wandering into a porn convention and coming away with the opinion that all women enjoy anal sex.
In any event, with many of the people I've talked to out here in California, I've found their upbringing didn't include such a vehemently Zionist/victimized bent.
See this mallet? I'm totally going to wack this bloated horse carcase with it. Repeatedly! Part I

There is a difference between not allowing the trite stuff in life affect you and being completely numb and apathetic. Human beings feel. You can't hide from it. You can't rise above it. Because those feelings of hurt, suffering, compassion, etc. are all part of what makes one human. Without them, one becomes a machine. Cold, unfeeling, helpful but only when being used by others (a play thing, something accessed only when people want to know a fact or have something tedious done) and unknowing of it all. You have always prided yourself on being invincible. It is a highschool philosophy that you've clung onto throughout college and apparently beyond. But you're so stubborn to continue being this special, untouchable thing that you think you are or should be, that what is truly beautiful in you - the human in you - is dying.... or has died. I wouldn't know anymore. I don't think it can ever really fully die. You say you don't need saving. No, no one can save you. But some were afraid of seeing this happen

Now, I know that your philosophy has taken years to cultivate. I know you think you have earned the right to have it. I know you think that throughout your history you've looked dejection, poor luck, pain, and everything else straight in the face. But, I don't think you really know what you're talking about. You don't know these things on a first name basis. Go to a third world country. Have your mom tell you that you were an accident and that her life would be better without you. Have a limb taken off. I'm not saying that those who have experienced these things may be enlightened, either. But you do have a very limited perspective. You surround yourself with people who tend to be trite, shallow, and have no perspective outside of their Hollywood hipster lifestyle. In comparison to them, you are deep and philosophical. But the cardboard tube that tunnels your vision is only of a slightly wider diameter
