(Not the daily Iraq journal)

This is something I've been noticing across many furry communities throughout the year and four months I've been involved with the fandom. It's mainly just throughout websites, but it makes one think on the possibilities. The furry fandom is indeed a close knit group from what I've seen. There is many a time where I've ( Read more... )

no fandom has be truly united in any sense of the word
and they always suffer from the human condition as much as anything else

it's sad.. but the cracks were always there, we started out as individual pockets and we still are to most people (just the pockets are bigger)

Like for example (although along traditional lines for the country anyway) there is a riff between north and south UK furs
And furs are still nation proud

We may be furs but we are still in part human…. And prone to all the same failings….. like feeling superior if we can get away with it

Of course there are world furs (like me).. But sometimes I do wonder exactly what percent of furs attend conventions outside their own countries

And then you have other kin (which is a whole different subject)

Yes you do make good points. Although I didn't know there was such a divide between north and south UK furs.

I was just pointing out that the fandom isn't always the "open arms welcoming with hugs" as it's always made out to be.

It's totally fragmented. I used to think the fandom was somehow special but now I realise it's just like any other group of humans.

I do think it is more accepting than other fandoms. Especially since many furs coexist with the ones with the extreme fetishes.

However, if anyone does anything that would give the fandom more of a negative image than it already has, they will be ostracized and shunned in a matter of moments.

I have no idea what you are talking about, I and the Fandom are just the bestest of friends!
