The drama that seems to be tagging along with the tourney is kind of like the situation in Iran. Regardless of who wins, a bunch of people are going to call mass bullshit and start internal strife.

Furry fandom IS NOT serious business.

Note to self: Once I acquire my fursuit, avoid retarded furry events like this.

It's not even a tournament in any real sense. There are no objective standards for who moves on. It's much more like an election...in more ways than one. ;P

I've avoided it since it's inception as the talented people who should be winning consistently lose to cute suits, or some other arbitrary standard. In fact, the one time I supported one person over another, it exploded in my face, and I've sworn off the entire thing ever since.

I agree with you there as it seems more like an election. It just seems to come down to who knows who and how many know that who. Which I think ruins the original fun that may have been intended.

The fact that people get so butthurt over who won when they feel others were more deserving, and thus cause needless controversy.

to some furs (like any other fandom) being a furry is serious... it's their life from sunset to sunset

personally... it' like watching a bunch of kids playing dress up myself included when I feel the urge
