They set off shortly after that. The ride is somewhat cramped, but Ibelin finds he doesn't mind. The fact that they're finally getting out of this forsaken town is more than enough to keep his spirits up.

The stuffy, rainy weather has Mathieu drifting in and out of sleep, getting more rest than he has for a long time, and they're already stopping for the evening when Ibelin shakes him awake.
"I suppose it's time for cooking," he sighs, stretching and yawning.
Mathieu watches him go before he too jumps out of the wagon and goes to find someone who can direct him to the food supplies and the equipment. The caravan isn't as large as the previous one they travelled with, so there is less food to cook, but the variation of what they have isn't great.
While Ibelin and others set up the fire, he watches, his eyes subconsciously following the other boy. After, when he can finally get to his part of the job, he settles for making a soup.
