Even in a city I've lived in over twenty years (not consecutively) there are things that surprise me. There are fantastic restaurants I've never even heard of. I still want to try the machito sopes at Birrieria Aguinaga but the phone number I've been able to find doesn't get answered; it just goes to some message about entering a remote access

And they had - in addition to the spanish-only butcher's counter - an in-house taqueria. Which was good enough at tacos to define the concept for me.
I was almost always the only blanco in the joint; I wonder at times if I weren't the only blanco in the neighbourhood.
