Bad Advice for Self-Defense

I should just put a big damn "Trigger warnings should be assumed" sign on my blog. Occasionally I do talk about things that are pleasant but often I talk about things that are not. This would be the latter. And yeah. They do trigger me too; writing this did.

This here started as a response to a comment on ginmar's post on some spectacularly awful

Some people are, yeah. It's a thing with me; I want to scream at people who think shooting a person is no big. Or that there are places you can shoot a person where it won't do much damage and there's no risk they'll die.

Mostly because such discussions make me anxious as fuck and maybe screaming might make me feel better.

(I'll note that ginmar is firmly not among the "kill 'em" advocates.)
