I say this compassionately and calmly, albeit a bit tersely: the "ridiculous claims" you cited are strawmen. The "some Hindus" (who? how many?) who believe in the story of Ramayana do so in different ways and to different extents, largely for the messages they drive home through the power of a story. I am sure you know this as well as anyone else. I do not know much about Islamic theology but I can safely say that the "some christian's" belief you have cited is a simplistic caricature that does not match the orthodox position, regardless of whether or not the orthodox position itself is coherent or useful.
