Onsen are brilliant. I think that of all the Japanese amenities they shall be the ones I miss the most. So back in I go!

I didn't go to an onsen, but the bathhouse I was in on my last day in Tokyo was among my most favorite parts of the trip.

Ahh... I live in onsen country, so I suppose they're much more accessible than down south. If you ever get the chance, you should definitely try and visit one next time you're in the country.
