A state of being bright and vibrant...hmm. Looking back, I could certainly say that I was more idealistic, and more disciplined, but I'm not sure if I was a better person or would want to go back to being that person. "What is your ultimate goal, and what steps do you have to take to achieve it, if you don't mind sharing? What are these things that keep you awake at night, these impossible dreams you dream?"

I have various stages of goals, now. I'd like to finish these remedial classes and get into a Master's program in biology in general and either evolutionary biology or ecology in particular. After that go on to do Doctoral work and eventually become a scientist in earnest. I'd like to get out of this place in my life and go somewhere where I'm with people who I feel I can talk to, who operate on a similar wavelength to how I do. I want to stop being alone all the time. Lots of different goals, but the amount of work, time and luck that I'll need to complete them... It's a daunting thought at any time.

There are plenty of people to talk at, but few you can honestly converse with. I can understand the need to want to be around people who understand you, who are on your wavelength.

Are there any scholarships or teaching assistant programs available to help financially with the schooling? Knowing you, academics won't be the problem.
