[ Juudai has been watching the above conversation with a growing sense of discomfort. In the wake of his conversation with Iruka on the nature of strength, some of the things this guy is saying...

They strike a couple of nerves.

("Do you think you deserve their forgiveness?")

The Hitomi weighs heavily in his hand. Should he answer? No - not into the conversation, that's not really his business. But should he...?

("I just have to wonder if everyone deserves to go home.")

He could at least say something to help explain things to the guy. Tell him where to go to find food, shelter... There's something about his smile that Juudai doesn't trust, but that's no reason to withhold help he could offer.
