[ Juudai makes sure to watch this without touching the Hitomi, this time. Even without feeling what Malik is feeling, he has an inkling of what might be going through this dream.
And then -
the other one.
"Knew it," Juudai murmurs to himself, through a mixture of triumph and disquiet. He'd known - there was something. There was someone else besides the two of them in that conversation. ]
[ In the tone of voice someone might use to invite someone to coffee: ]
[ Okay, okay, so this should be really unsettling information. It really should. In fact, Juudai is very appreciative of this fact. He should probably be really shocked (and he is a little surprised), and possibly angry (not...really?), but his first reaction - ]
P-pfff -
[ And before he can stifle it - he hit the reply button the second Malik's message stopped playing, and hadn't even begun to frame a response - Juudai begins to laugh hard.
It's just - ! Malik! Trying to kill Yugi? Like Yugi is even a person who can be killed? The idea is absolutely absurd. And since Juudai is relatively certain that Malik's from farther back in the timeline of their world, the fact of the matter is that he clearly did not succeed. Which only makes it (quite horribly) funnier. ]
- ha, aha, I'm sorry - no, really, I'm sorry -
[ Nnnnnnnnope, Juudai's going to have to fire this response off, he's sort of in the middle of a half-shock, half-actual-mirth laughing fit. ]
[Malik is in neither the mood nor has the energy to be slapped in the face once again with the reminder that he failed.
He knows already.
The point from which he left he had already had to face that nothing was within his control anymore, and he doesn't need to be reminded by some brat who doesn't know the first thing about what happened.

[ After several minutes of no reply, Juudai has managed to stop laughing, and is beginning to think that he'd hurt Malik's feelings a little with his unexpected fit of uncontrollable mirth. He waits another couple minutes - no reply.
{ Oh, he'll get over it, Yubel mutters. I thought it was funny. }
Ignoring Yubel, Juudai makes a second reply to Malik's last audio response: ]
I'm sorry. That wasn't fair of me.
But really, you're going to have to give me a better reason than that for me to give up.
Well, no one's ever going to know you unless you let them. [ Delivered a little more bluntly than Juudai is usually wont. This guy is beginning to frustrate him a little. ] That's just the truth.
And if that's what you want, then fine. But I wonder if it's what you want. [ The slightest - slightest! - emphasis on "you." As in, you-you, Malik. ]
If you ever want anyone to talk to, or duel, or even yell at, I'm here. You can leave a message if I don't pick up. That's all I'm trying to say.
[There is a LONG pause after that. Malik feels almost like he has been slapped across the face. Not in a vicious manner, but that manner of 'you need to wake up NOW'.
a sharp canine tooth bites into his lower lip as he struggles with what to do with this.
No one has pursued friendship with him before. Ever. And definitely not like this]
It doesn't matter what I want. [What matters is whats already been done. And what needs to be righted.]
And then -

Offer's still open, you know.

Do you two come as a package deal of foolish idealism or something? [Yes he's also referring to Johan]

[ So what do you plan to do about it, Malik? ]

[He'll shove you away. Thats what he plans to do.
Hate him. Don't help him.]

[Malik mumbles.]
I don't know you. You don't know me.
That's all there is to it.

We're all in an unfamiliar place here, you know? It's important to have people to support each other.
