[week 19 | day 3 | Video]
[After having been quiet for a long while now, Claire feels relatively adjusted enough to go out and about, and attempt to actually meet more people. She decides to head out to the market, and goes at a time of day when it's not all that busy, but not entirely deserted either. When the Hitomi turns on, she's smiling down at it, and offers her audience a cheerful wave. She's trying hard to do this friendly thing. She's never been all that good at it.]
I figured it was time to stop contending for sulking teenager of the year award, and speak up so I could get to know some of you out there. I always wanted to have a chance to get to -
[She hears a couple of shouts from in the distance and the sound of horses, and turns her head toward the sound. She watches for a few seconds, and after seeing nothing, shrugs and turns her attention back to her Hitomi.]
Basically, I'm trying to say that I'm Claire Bennet and this is -
[She's cut off yet again as a horse drawn cart zooms directly at her, and she's so taken by surprise that she doesn't have time to jump out of the way. The cart plows right into her, and over her, and the Hitomi is jostled out of her hands and is rolled away. Upon its landing, it is turned so her body is still able to be seen, and she lays there motionless for quite some time.
Eventually a groggy sound is heard coming from her, and she pushes herself to stand up. There is blood all across her face and matted in her hair, so much that any wounds would be difficult to see unless one is up close. Her face isn't disfigured or swollen, however, and her movement is just as normal as ever as she stands and proceeds to use her good arm to pop the other that is broken back into place. Within seconds she's feeling at her midsection, and although the Hitomi is too far away to really tell, she's pushing ribs back into her body.
She stands there for a few more seconds after this and looks around, and the fact that she had been recording something dawns on her and you can hear her curse as she goes into a frenzy and looks all around for her device. It takes her a minute, but she eventually finds it, and she cradles it in her hands, a very unsure look on her face.]
I'm Claire Bennet and that was accidental attempt number one.
[She goes entirely serious then and looks as if she's going to say something else, but never does and just shuts off her device instead. She has no idea how she's going to explain this to people.]
