[The video flickers on to reveal a petite young man dressed in a white hospital shirt and black shorts, long chestnut bangs framing crimson eyes, a black and gold uniform dangling from his hand. His pupils slitted much like a snakes, he shoots a rather haughty, superior look towards the Hitomi after eyeing his surroundings disdainfully. He blinks,

This guy Teito either has some serious personality issues, or...

{ Or he is playing host to a spirit, Yubel finishes. But is it with his consent? }

It didn't seem so, not the way Teito didn't acknowledge the earlier transmission, especially not with the haughty way the spirit spoke of his "Master." Curious.

Juudai still remembers the awkward almost-disaster that dealing with Malik and his other personality turned out to be, so this time he's going to tread a little more... lightly. ]

Teito Klein? Hey, my name's Yuki Juudai. I'm pretty sure the map on here is accurate. Welcome to Kannagara.

...Kannagara?

[ He blinks and frowns ever so slightly at that, then shifts back a bit from his perch on one of the flat rocks near the base of the waterfall.]

I'm sorry, but which districts is this Kannagara in - because I've memorized all the maps of the districts belonging to the Barsburg and that's not a name I'm familiar with.

It's not in a district you'd know. I dunno what a "Barsburg" is - [ he says it like bah-su-bah-gu ] - but Kannagara isn't part of your world. It's a different world entirely, and you've been brought here from your own world, like the rest of us have.

[ Juudai gives Teito what he hopes is a bracing smile. ] But don't worry, it's not so bad here! You get used to it.

[He's just going to stare at Yuudai for a long moment, as if attempting to determine of this man is out of his mind saying something like that. He can't really tell, but after a moment, he shakes his head.]

It's Barsburg and... that doesn't make any sense. I've never heard of anything like that before.

[One thing Cal can say about this place, it is never boring. Maybe not amusing in a good way, but never boring at least. First things first, it's probably not a good idea to let a guy like this know his face. Red eyes. Red eyes are never a good thing, and people whose eye change color are never a good thing.]

So are we talking strictly governmental army here, or more drink-the-kool-aid religious army?

[He just shoots the device a rather nonplussed look.]

The Imperial Army serves the Barsburg Empire and the Royal Family, not the Church.

Hey, royal families can be pretty cultish.

[Yeah, he's thinking the two personalities did happen. Is this kid possessed or something? Cal's eyes changed color when Darkling took him over. Maybe not. Rules don't apply in this place.]

Since I don't recognize any of those names, and my geography and history aren't that bad, I guess you're from another world. . .

I wouldn't know. I've never met anyone from the Royal Family.

[The rest, however, is enough to give him pause and blink, then blink again. And then he just gives this stranger a rather dubious look.]

Another world? Do you mean like the Heavens?

[Matt's smoking, and his goggles are in place over his eyes, for once.

This kid's in for a nasty surprise if he thinks his rank counts for anything to the so-called gods.]

[There's the faintest tinge of annoyance in his expression now, though not by much. He blinks for a moment, then cants his head to the side.]

What attitude are you referring to and how to so many civilians have access to these comm-links?

Everyone gets one of these. It's annoyingly equal-opportunity that way.

...I still don't understand.

[With a sigh, Teito reaches up to scratch his fingers through his bangs, then shakes his head.]

I've never met a civilian before so I didn't realize this belonged to one of them. I should just leave this here then - I'm sure they'll come back looking for it.

[He gives a polite nod and really does start to set the Hitomi down onto one of the large roots, as if to leave it behind.]
