[She’s obviously taken a short look around the area before making the video, because the woman on the screen has a small bundle of various found objects in her hands. A strange-looking rock, a clump of dirt, a piece of broken pottery, a couple of small flowers. The smile she offers the Hitomi seems quite genuine, and not at all panicked.]
Excuse me?

You're not really lost.
[He'll say hi, sure. Why not. He could use the distraction.]
At least... it isn't your fault.

Oh! You can explain it then? I was worried that I was losing my mind, but I'm glad to hear that it's not the case!

[She seems nice... he wonders how kindly this place will really treat her though...]
But I can do my best.

[She repeats the word, then gives a slight nod.]
Then tell me what you can about it, even if it doesn't make sense. Oh, but first! Introductions, because I feel strange talking to someone whose name I don't know.
[Her smile turns up a notch again with this.]
I'm Hanabusa, and I'm very glad to meet you!

[Miharu hasn't exactly gone around longing for people to come here, even if he has missed some friends from back home, and neither does he go around expecting anyone to show up. He knows they might, though, so he's not exactly surprised to see Hanabusa.
Not surprised, but... it makes him happy. He doesn't know her that well, but because she has shown them such kindness... Him and Yoite... Why wouldn't he be happy then, right?]
Ah, Hanabusa-san.

[She might just have dropped a couple of her rocks, in her scrambling to catch the 'phone' before she could drop it. She's that excited to see him.]
Are you all right? How did you get here? Is Yoite-kun with you? Are you safe?
Reply
I've been here for a while. Yoite is here too, and we're with Yukimi-san.
[So. As safe as can be, or something, he supposes.]

[At least someone is taking care of the boys. And while Yukimi can be a little rough around the edges... she trusts him.]
So! You'll need to catch Aunt Hana up on everything that's happened, won't you?
Reply
[That's a new one.]
That thing's a Hitomi. You're stuck with it.

[She smiles her best friendly smile.]
Are you interested in archaeology? And thank you for the information...

[ It's always surprising to see new arrivals who seem to have gotten used to the situation they've found themselves in so quickly. On his end, Doug offers the woman a smile as well as he switches on the video function. ]
Has someone already contacted you? I can try to answer any questions you have.

[She doesn't seem too confident in their information, exactly.]
I could always use another new friend! Perhaps you might have a different perspective. Do you believe we were brought here by gods as well?

[She looks pretty pleased to see him. It's nice to have familiar faces at least, in a strange place, and at least she knows for sure the boys have been looked after.]
I've had many kind people try to explain the situation to me, yes. Such a friendly place, this Kannagara, isn't it? I suppose you'd have pretty much the same story to tell?

[His brow quirks a little at the second remark. Actually, most people he's encountered here have been pretty nice, more or less. Sure, there's the occasional crazy dude, and sometimes the natives are annoying, not to mention the oni and other benign creatures of the wild. But he doesn't mention that quite yet. In any case, Thobari might be a naive and stupid sometimes, but his lady strikes Yukimi as a bit more savvy.]
Heh. The people are okay, sure. My story is, I got stuck here. And that's the end of the story for now, sadly. The kids are here, but I guess you know that already.

[At the mention of the children, her expression softens a little.]
Miharu-kun said that Yoite was here, but of course, I haven't heard from him yet.
[She laughs softly, quietly accepting.]
You've been taking good care of them, haven't you? And Yoite... is he... well?
[He'd been dead, after all. She hasn't decided what to think of that yet.]
