[EVENT] Fourth Wall Event Guide
FOURTH WALL EVENT
12:00AM EST Friday, July 23 - 11:59PM PST Wednesday, July 28 (Week 9, Day 3 - Day 4)

On Week 9, Day 3, Izanagi, the Creator and Almighty Ruler of Kannagara, and the god responsible for bringing newcomers into Kannagara falls into a deep slumber. His children, who can't agree on who to bring to Kannagara, open the floodgates to different universes across space and time, randomly pulling people from all different places into the realm of the gods.
The event will last from 12:00AM EST Friday, July 23rd, to 11:59 PST Wednesday, July 28. It takes place during the course of two in-game days -- Week 9, Day 3 and Week 9, Day 4. We will allow additional time for backlogging any posts or threads.
This post will cover information for both visitors and current players!
FOR VISITORS
WHERE IS THE EVENT TAKING PLACE?
The event will take place on both Kannagara's network community (kannagara_net) and our log community (kannagara_rpg). Your characters will not be able to make any new posts to either community, but they will be able to tag into open logs or any posts or dreams on the network with the tag "event: fourth wall." We will be making a master network post for visiting characters to post on with their Hitomis, as well as a master dream post where you can post dreams.
You will not have to join any of the communities in order to play. Just comment on any logs or posts.
WHERE CAN I POST?
On kannagara_rpg, the log community, only canon, AU, and original characters will be allowed to interact in action or paragraph logs with current characters in Kannagara. On kannagara_net, the network, in addition to canon, AU, and original characters, muns and sockpuppet journals may also be allowed to respond to posts and dreams with the event tag. Some players may state OOCly that they would rather avoid some aspects of fourth walling (such as being revealed to be fictional). Please respect any such wish.
WHAT IS ALLOWED?
Feel free to play however you'd like! If you want to write a lot, go right ahead -- we love tl;dr here! If you want to comment spam like hell or action tag, we love that too.
If you want your character to stir up some crazy bullshit and blow things up or run around and get into fights, feel free to do so. We love that kind of stuff here. If you feel like writing porn, well, we don't mind that either. Just make sure you include proper warnings in the subject lines and we have no problems on our end! And no, you can't bring a mecha or a fighter jet into the world along with your character. We do sometimes allow those type of things to be summoned but only by current characters.
We are allowing duplicate characters for this event -- so feel free to bring your characters to this event, even if you see that they are already taken. However, some players might not want any duplicates of their characters played against their own in this event and will indicate OOCly on their event posts as such. Please don't have your duplicates interact with the original character, if that is the case, but throw them at anyone else!
ARRIVAL
Your character may arrive anywhere within Kannagara. The heaviest populated areas are currently Hisato, Yomisato, and Kusasato. Alternatively, your character may arrive as canon characters do, which is by the big tree in Himorogi. Your character will find a Hitomi somewhere on their person. They will immediately be able to use it to respond to any characters on the network, or may make a post to the master network post.
AFTER ARRIVAL
Feel free to explore the world of Kannagara! Browse and experience dreams, or dream up some of your own on the master dream post we will be putting on the network. You can also crash a character's network post with an action thread if you'd like to meet that character in person.
For the purpose of this event, we are going to be utilizing time paradoxes, so that multiple events may happen simultaneously without time really making sense. Just assume it somehow magically works and chalk it up to the divine powers of the gods.
CHARACTER POWERS
Your characters will be full powered throughout the duration of the event. However, in the event that they get into a fight with another character and actually want to kill them, Kannagara's Power System will kick in.
CAN I PLAY A DEITY?
We are allowing deities with a canon source to be played only for the purpose of this event, such as characters from Okami or Saiyuki. By "canon source" we do not mean The Bible or the Kojiki, guys. So no, you can't play Jesus. Unless it's the Jesus from Saint Young Men.
WHERE WILL MY CHARACTER STAY?
Well, your character is only here for one in game day, but if they need a place to stay, there is a housing complex in Hisato known as Natsuno Ryokan that is open to all newcomers, free of charge!
WHAT ABOUT PLOTTING?
You can jump into our chatroom on AIM at kannagaraooc or find any of our players on the taken page! Plotting is also welcome on this post.

FOR CURRENT PLAYERS
DO I HAVE TO PARTICIPATE?
No. If you don't want to participate in this event, you may opt-out simply by not labeling any of your posts with the tag "event: fourth wall."
WILL MY CHARACTER REMEMBER THIS EVENT?
That's entirely up to you. If your character does remember this event, it will most likely be remembered as a strange dream. You have the option of having your character believe that it really happened as well. It's really up to you -- we're leaving this one open ended.
CAN MY CHARACTER DIE IN THIS EVENT?
Of course. Your character can be injured, maimed, or die the same way they would any other day of the week. Even if it's a visitor character that causes the damage. So don't recklessly kill your character off if you plan on playing them throughout the event! The same rules apply for character death during the event as any other time in Kannagara. HOWEVER, an exception can be made if the "death" is by a sockpuppet journal on the network in some strange action log, and if it is clearly crack and not meant to be taken as game canon. But the same exception won't apply for canon or original characters!
I DON'T WANT MY CHARACTER TO BE TOLD THAT THEY ARE A CHARACTER OR MEET THEIR DUPLICATE.
When you post on the network or log comm, simply make an OOC note on your post or in a subject line that no fourth-walling or duplicates are allowed.
WILL THIS COUNT TOWARDS ACTIVITY CHECK?
Yes, but only activity with your in-game character.
HOW WILL MY CHARACTERS REALIZE SOMETHING WEIRD IS HAPPENING?
Their Hitomis will be going off like crazy as new characters arrive. Usually Hitomis don't do anything when people arrive in this world, but for the sake of this event, Hitomis will be malfunctioning quite a bit with new arrivals. Your character might feel compelled to make a post to the network about it. Hint hint.
