[Iruka spends the past several hours searching for this cave and securing its parameters. There are countless traps and wards set up; it is the most suitable place to hide in, located on higher ground and hidden amidst water and large rocks.
They have no food except perhaps water. Iruka is not sure if the water he has created will turn to blood or not; so far it hasn't. And right about now, small miracles are welcoming.
He is worried though, he is apprehensive. He does not light a fire like he should have, so it's still dark except for the torch in the far corner of the cave, barely lighting the end. It's risky to have brighter light, and Iruka doesn't want to attract the creatures that ruined their homes and food stores. It's very cold, too eerily quiet that it echoes; not even the distant whistle of the wind and the sound of the rushing waterfalls can break the weight of the silence.
There isn't much time left and he doesn't know if Kakashi and the others are still fighting out there, who is injured, who needs help ... who might have fallen. Their numbers in arms are so low that it's pitiful when these ... creatures come in masses.
