This is a hella long list. I don't even know some of the fandoms you mentioned O_o Anyway, I applaud you for shipping so much het pairings *is totally yaoi-ized*
Actually, I think this list is too short.. there's never too much obsession :D
*bows* I love het as much as yaoi (maybe a little less ;) but it must be well done. Most of the shoujo around can turn you into a hardcore heterophobe. I wonder why most girls there are portrayed as weepy, weak, naive and stupid.. Their boyfriends are mainly cool so it's a waste if they're stuck with them xD Also I hate it when all male characters fall in love with the heroine who just charms them with her good heart/beautiful soul/innocence/courage that means going into dangerous situations only to be rescued by the said males Oh, that reminded me of Fushigi Yuugi! I forgot about the only reason I struggled through this series - Nuriko/Hotohori & Nuriko/Tasuki

there's never too much obsession Word! Too bad that lately I can't seem to find any new one. The yaoi mangas I read are too short to be obsessing over for too long, and my other fandoms (except CLAMP) have lost all their charm to me.
Anyway, I agree with your evaluation of shoujo genre. It's extremely hard to find a manga with some likeable female characters. That's why I prefer the 'slice of life' series (e.g. Honey and Clover, Nodame Cantabile), for they are a bit more realistic and mature, and present heroines who have this wonderful thing called a personality.
Zomg, it's good I never gave Fuushigi Yuugi a chance. There was a time when I considered buying the volumes, but thank God, the invisible hand of Providence stopped me from doing so *nods*
Hm, I think that you can't find an obsession, it must find you xD You just stumble upon a series that sounds nice, then pick it up and after that you can't let go and you get married to it xD Something you check out randomly is often the best (ah, the joys of Hikaru no Go.. how can a shounen manga about a game contain such thinly veiled male/male obsession? Pursuing the Hand of God together it doesn't sound like porn, noo I've never watched Nodame or Honey and Clover but I intend to. Maybe they'll be about as good as Nana (*hopes*) which is all shades of awesome (and has no female character that would irritate me.. in fact, I utterly love them
