Oh my God. I can't even.
I JUST. I LOVED IT. I CAN'T EVEN EXPRESS OH MY GOD. It was just so messed up on so many different levels, but in a disaster movie way. Only I hate disaster movies, because they make me sad for all the people who die -- which happened with this episode, too. I can't remember the name of the woman who got stuck in the -- video room thing, (just looked it up, Steffi!) and watched a video of her kids in those last moments and I just DDDDD8'ed the entire time. I was fully expecting the Doctor to just let them all die, but at the same time I just kept thinking, "He can't. He won't. This show is not that fucked up." (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, TORCHWOOD.) I'm not sure how I would've felt if he had, but I did half-expect him to go back for Mia, since he pointed out her age. Although, uh, Roman Groom, the dude with the robot, was so obviously the youngest, and his article even said so, so I'm still kind of confused about that.
(ALSO, while I was rewatching to get everyone's names, I briefly stopped on the articles. Mia Bennett was born and raised in Texas, went to Stanford-- and had a decidedly non-American accent. FUUUUUTUUUUUUURE.)
And I loved how the Doctor knew he should've left right from the start and just kept going back because he couldn't help it -- especially the part where he was totally trying to talk himself out of joining Adelaide while they were in the medical bay. But for a while there I was just -- really worried about that ginormous god complex that showed up towards the end, and I'm so glad they tore that down at the end of the ep. I've gotten tired of him going I AM GOD and once he started going I RULE TIME I started 8|'ing. Thank you for putting him back in his place, Captain Adelaide.
I can't even really pinpoint what I liked about the episode. It was just a huge adrenaline rush. BICYCLES. And rocket-powered WALL-E Gadget! And so much running aaaah how do they do that. Buuuut, I didn't really like the BAM-BAM-BAM news articles, though. I get why they included them but I thought they were sort of tedious.
Aaaaaaaaalso the Doctor is still an idiot for trying to tamper with time. Perhaps he needs a refresher on his own canon. lol anti-time and Zagreus. 8|

My neighbors are doing karaoke and they have it turned up super loud. And they're all so, so horrible. I'm greatly displeased.
